  1. Tell them to stop copying us! Next thing you'l know there will be a letterbox under each walmart lightpost.
  2. I would probably ask confront him but that's the kind of guy that I am. I do think that Nobby Nobbs approach is pretty good though.
  3. My new 60cx is on its way along with a copy of City Select 7. I have City Select 6 on my computer for my Garmin Vista which I am selling to my step dad. City Select 6 is fine for him but I will have to update his maps on my computer since he doesn't have one. If I install 7 on my computer will it automatically just overwrite 6? I don't want to use both my unlock codes for City Select 7. So can I keep both versions on my computer so that I can occasionally update the Vista with 6 and have 7 on my computer for my 60cx?
  4. I agree that you should obey all posted hours. But if it is in an area where night caching is allowed I'm all over it in the dark trying to be FTF. In fact it is 2:15 am in PA and I'm getting ready to go look for a cache that was just posted about a 1/2 hour ago.
  5. I think that even though it is becoming more widespread, there is still an aura about it that is secret. I kind of like that and hope it stays that way. I still get the "you must be nuts" look when I explain how Geocaching works.
  6. Sorry but last I knew temporary caches are not allowed.
  7. I use Gsak and Cachemate. The first few times it took a while but one you get used to it, it doesn't take long at all. Once I get my PQ in my email I can have my gps and palm loaded with 500 caches in about 5 minutes.
  8. I tried them both and stuck with Cachemate. I just think that it's easier.
  9. And some day the Explorist series will be offered with easily replaceable batteries instead of a proprietary rechargeable system that will run out of juice when your in the middle of the woods.
  10. Thanks alot. The package deal prices are pretty nice.
  11. I'll second that question. Just loaded with maps one time or with the city select cd with a valid unlock code?
  12. I can't remember who but I do recall seeing someone here on the forums who does cache with a Corgi. Great little dogs. Full of energy! Of course I like bigger dogs myself.
  13. Check the profile page of the owner of the cache where you got the camera. You can find out from there when the last time that this person logged on to the website. If it has been quite a while the person may have quit the game.
  14. I guess that I'm suprised that you guys have had signal loss with the 60c. I thought the quad helix antennae was supposed to be so much better than the patch antennae on my Vista.
  15. I've actually taken a nap leaning against a tree covered with it and broke off a leaf to see if it would affect me and nothing happened. I must be immune to the stuff.
  16. Yep I've found some in Tupperware, but your right it's not as common as some of the other containers that you've mentioned.
  17. Happy birthday Tupperware. I'm sure Mr. Tupper was thinking,"Someday people will be putting toys in my containers and hiding them in the woods!". Or maybe not.
  18. I can't even imagine a cache going 2 months without a finder around here!
  19. Ok I'll admit it. I've been in a park after dark to get a cache. I probably drove 5 mph over the speed limit to get there. I probably didn't wear my seatbelt either. What a terrible person I must be.
  20. I'm ready to upgrade from my Garmin Vista and was all set to buy a Garmin 60c. Then I learn about the new improved 60cx. I don't need the 60cs because I think that I've used the electronic compass maybe twice on my Vista and have never used the altimeter. I like the idea of the expandable memory of the x series but the piddly 24mb of memory of my Vista has never really been a problem. Shopping around I see that I can get a 60c for around $100 less than the 60cx. Should I spend the extra dough?
  21. I've never had a cache go for more than 24 hours without being approved. No problems in my area. Thanks Keystone!
  22. Yes but the difference here is that it is a requirement to log the event. Edit: Darn Saxman beat me to it!
