What is the most recent edition of Mapsource Topo? Also, does Topo make you play around with unlock codes like City Select and Navigator?

As accurate as possible. Lately I've needed all the help I can get.

Have you let the unit aquire a proper almanac? Make sure before you use it you turn it on and place it somewhere outdoors with a clear view of the sky for about 20-30 minutes. You should have pretty good results after that. I upgraded from the Vista to the 60cx and don't regret it a bit. Edit: Fat finners.

Both the 60CS and the CSx have a compass. What you gave up is a chipset that's about 10 times better than the CS. We were discussing the difference between 60csx and 60cx not the 60cs.

I recently upgraded from the Vista to the 60cx. I passed on the csx because I used the compass maybe once on the vista and it wasn't very good and never used the altimeter. Put the extra 50 towards new map software.

In terms of real world distances how much is this .001 really, a couple of feet, inches?

I've found a couple that had decoys and it was kind of fun. I would have to agree though that if it got to be common it would just be a pain.

I kind of miss Ace, only because he wouln't look for lame caches. He would only look for caches that "rock".

Where is the logic in this?

I'd rather put a disposable camera in the cache. That way if they want thier picture taken it is thier option. I can see where someone might get ticked if your taking thier picture without thier permission. Some people in this hobby just like to remain anonymous.

They run about 5 bucks a piece at our local store. I do prefer the .30 cal. over the 50. A little easier to hide.

I like the idea of a top whatever list. I think that individual ratings would be too subjective.

Channel 2 is the standard Geocaching channel according to the FAQ. Do you have an FRS/PMR channel to find out if other Geocachers are in the area? Yes. The community has decided on channel 2 as the primary for both FRS and PMR, and 12 as the alternate FRS (Family Radio Service) channel and 8 for the alternate PMR (Europe). FRS and PMR radios are longer distance walkie talkies, like the Motorola Talkabout.

I guess it's like playing golf with my brother. He has a habit of not counting all his strokes. We're not in any kind of tournament and there is no money on the line so he's really not hurting anyone either. On the other hand, even when he does tell the truth I'll always be a little bit skeptical of his score because I know this about him.

I've seen a few that I couldn't sign the log. I saw them, I didn't find them.

Probably a third of my finds are at night. I like the extra challenge. Just remember to bring more batteries than you would ever think you might need.
