  1. I so need to get out and take some pictures! He looks like a total fuzz ball right now. The next 'warm" day we get I'll get some pics for ya!
  2. Yea! The art looks good. Can't wait to see it in person! I have plans for this coin! My own Chincoteague pony would like to model with it!
  3. I got my Geo-bone today (I'm in PA too). Now I just need to make time to get some pictures of it while the pup is wearing it.
  4. Very cool coin. I'll have to get one of these. I like turtles and always stop to get them out of the road. The last one I picked up was a cute little box turtle.
  5. Just wanted to say Happy Birthday Geo.Error!! I hope your birthday was great! pacman cracked me up!
  6. Some bucket list items in no specific order: To be able to spend time and work on a ranch out west Lead a happier and healthier life that would in turn also influence others around me. Find a career/job that I enjoy (would probably mean going back to school). To have the time available to volunteer or work towards issues that are important to me, i.e. breed specific legislation, animal cruelty issue (especially with horses) Adopt an off the track thoroughbred
  7. I think I got a set - I have a receipt at least. Of course I don't know much about what's going on since I just woke up at 2:55 am! Back to sleep for me. Hopefully all this excitement will not keep me awake staring at the ceiling. Must resist late night shopping...
  8. I received two wooden nickels from Boots! They are really nice! Thanks again!
  9. I receive three little snowflake lobsters - blue, red and green. Not sure which color is my favorite!
  10. I would have to say Misty of Chincoteague. Gosh, for the longest time it was my plan to move to the island and ride horses around town! This was before I was old enough to realize times change and the way things were portayed in the book differ from the way they are now. I would so love to grow up during a time when things were simpler, people worked hard but still made time to enjoy life. It would have been neat to have a beach all to yourself, race the wind and have your dreams come true! I love visiting the island and wish one day I could help the saltwater cowboys round up the herd of while horses (one can still dream !). It took 13 years but in 2007 I finally was able to purchase a foal from the annual pony swim and auction. This book has been a big influence to me! http://www.assateagueisland.com/ponyswim/ponyswim.htm
  11. I loved that line. I reckon folks in Waynseboro have a history of blowing up scragly oak trees in closed business parks. Well considering Waynesboro is nearby Camp David and other government sites I don't think assuming that the item could be explosive is that crazy. This location wasn't an abandoned business park (outside of an abandoned building yes) - it in was in a residential area. Being a resident of Waynesboro and a geocacher overall I think they acted reasonable under the circumstances.
  12. Yesterday I got a Wisconsin Geocaching cow - cute little feller. Earlier in the week I got the 2008 NZ Kiwi. What a cool coin!
  13. Hey I live in Waynesboro - I'm glad to say I was at work and not caching on Friday. It's interesting to see the comments on here and in the local papers!
  14. Today I received a cute little envelope from the Netherlands! I quickly opened it and found a Christmas card and sig item from Geo.Error! I love it! Thank you my friend and have a very Merry Christmas!
  15. I need to make a wooden nickel for a sig item. I want to get in on the trading action and especially so I can get one of those Boots nickels! I need to get motivated and figure something out, maybe I'll have time after Christmas...
  16. Next year I would like to cache more often and make use of that ammo box I picked up at a yard sale!
  17. I'm excited to see this coin will be made. I've been keeping an eye on this thread since I started here. I need an armadillo to add to the critter collection.

Package Received!: 11/29/08 Sorry for the delay! I receive my mission on Wednesday but didn't get a chance to load the photos until now. I was really excited to see that the package came from England! I was really hoping to receive an international mission I love the wrapping paper! I opened the package and there were two little stockings full of all kinds of wrapped goodies! I almost missed the little tiny wrapped gift. I'm glad I didn't because it was a very neat England geocaching pin. I love the ornaments and the candy is pretty much gone! The sour apple candies were great. The chocolate coins were much better than anything here - very good chocolate and I was just eating a piece of the peppermint cake. The Santa pen is helpful at work to keep everyone away from my cubicle! The coins were great too - I got a Big Ben and a Baa geocoin Thanks Bambography! Everything was great!
  19. I didn't know about these coins. I'm glad to see there will be a remint. I think I need a Christmas lobster or two.
  20. Interesting topic. Makes me consider why I'm buying pieces of metal instead of a other things that I've been meaning to buy. I'm still new to the coins (September) so the designs and elements are still exciting. I think if I would have never gotten my hands on one (the first one I was lucky enough to win in a cointest) I wouldn't have realized that they are really small pieces of art. I enjoy the coins with a background/story - it makes them all the more special. I like the idea of being able to make a reflection of yourself or what's important to you in a small package that can be shared with others. Another reason I've stuck around I think is the friendliness of the forums here. My first coin I was lucky enough to win thanks to the generosity of that person giving away coins for prizes. People have taken time to answer questions and give feedback. So far from what I've experienced (unlike other forums - non coin) there is a lack of snarky answers and " search you newbie". I'm always a lurker on forums but this community has allowed me to feel welcome enough to post without feeling stupid. Also the missions! The Santa mission was the first one I was involved in. It's a very neat idea and so much fun. Without the coins I would never have a reason or ability to connect to people who live 1000's of miles away in different countries. Overall right now I think it's the connection to people who have a common interest that keeps me coming back - oh yeah… and because the coins are shiny.
  21. Wow! I absolutely love that coin. How neat!
  22. Aww now I'm jealous. I want to be riding but instead I'm stuck at work. Next time there is a pet mission I will need to sign the ferrets up. They missed out on all the fun!
  23. I lucked out and was able to get one of each version. Of course the whole time I was filling in the name/ address stuff I kept misspelling things since I was in a hurry. It all worked out ok though.

Package Received!: 11/29/08!!! The Fed Ex guy shows up yesterday and I couldn't figure out how my black friday purchases arrived so quick! So I bring the package in and see the little note, Merry Cachemas - all the while Curtis is sniffing the box to death. I told him several times it was for me and not for him because it had my name on the package. So I crack open the box and see all these funny looking packing peanuts - opened the card and it was Curtis' pet mission from Santa Paws! The funny looking packing peanuts were actually edible bones! So cute! After feeding Curtis a few treats we set off to open the rest of the package. I love the individual wrapped gifts! Curtis helped open his gifts. He wanted to eat the whole box of liver treats and he wouldn't wait for me to remove the cardboard from his kong tennis ball bone! The cool thing about the bone - we just got our yard fenced on Monday. All week long I've been trying to get him to play fetch with his stuffy toys - no luck. He wouldn't even go get them. I've been meaning to go to the store to get a fetch toy! He LOVES the tennis ball bone. We played fetch a long time yesterday! After Curtis opened his gifts I have him a few more bones to keep him busy while I opened the smaller packages. What a shock! I'm still floored! I first opened a green glitter GeoGuitar! It's beautiful, I love the glitter and I have a fender stratocaster myself! I had three other little packages. One was searchin' in the sand - beachball geocoin. Very cute (makes me wish it was summer again!). The other two were on my "wishlist" -- coins I really never thought I'd see in person or own! A Tatanka Pejula and a Gone to the Dogs geocoin. Wow! I'm still amazed! I love all the coins! Everything was perfect. Actually one of my favorite things was the signature item - five transportation tokens - what a neat and interesting idea. Sorry this is a little long - I'm still too excited about this. Best Christmas gift I (opps i mean Curtis) received in many, many years! Thank you Tokencollector.
