  1. : Sound like really fun caches...i think you need to read between the lines...i see that they are in SoCal, so i guess next time i go caching outside the O.C., i'll have to check them out...maybe i can drag the bush statue down the freeway on the way home, and leave my ex ..have to leave a couple bucks with that to be trading up.
  2. Well...that would be me...went to the dollar store yesterday and spent more than $10.00 on stuff that I don't need ( candy, tea, etc) just for the containers! I have a stash of containers in my car, at work and in my home...but i keep buying more...and my friend at work give me all their altoids and other such containers! Hmmm...is this an obsession? ( I only have 400+ finds, 18 hides, maybe 3 forum posts ...I guess i need to get some posts under my belt...so i can be considered a "real" Geocacher?
  3. Nevermind....I think i know where to do that...it just occured to me its on the same page...something about "title" or something....well, i've got to go geocaching! I'll take care of that later...if i can remember it again.
  4. hooray! Now, how do i change the words under the picture? can someone direct me to the instructions for that procedure? Thanks.
  5. trying again...testing the avatar...i think i followed all the directions...maybe it will work this time.
  6. testing avatar success?
  7. I guess I'm a "lurker", unless I have a question to ask or a comment to make (like: "Thanks for the help"). I'd rather be caching than lurking though, so i come in only occasionally when I am bored and want to see what's new on the boards. I haven't noticed much hostility, but i look at the words written...i don't put any hostility into them..they are just words. The authors may or may not be hostile, i wouldn't know...written words are neutral, they only convey the emotions you ascribe to them as you are reading them. If you picture a smiley that is happy next to one set of words... , you get a different feeling than if you picture a smiley that is frowning. who cares? who cares?
  8. Thank you., I found the topic, and corrected my setting!
  9. I hope someone can explain what is happening with my navigation feature. The problem started when i was out caching on Saturday, and the pointer on my GPS started acting weird...first it was pointing me in the opposite direction from the cache coordinates, and it was in 3 parts...the arrow head was in one spot, the middle was spearated from the arrowhead and a little off to the side from both the top and the bottom of the pointer. The bearing dots were on also, and the pointer was just acting really insane. I had let someone else hold my GPS'r last weekend.who was new to geocaching..could they have pushed some buttons and reset something incorrectly? HELP...it's frustrating trying to find a cache with a broken arrow!, going in circles and in the wrong direction.
  10. wow! I'm sure glad i read these posts tonight. I'm going to place my first caches tomorrow, and i wasn't sure whether to place or get approval first! Now I know...and they are close enough to be able to move them if necessary. Thanks geojeepr
  11. Thanks. I emailed the cachers who dropped off the geocoin, i guess i will email them again with the tracking # of the coin...as i didn't even think of that when i email them. Thanks again for your suggestions. Geocachers are AAAAAWWWsome! geojeepr
  12. I found my first Geocoin today and am wondering where i am supposed to log this coin. I looked on the TB tracking page, but did not see anything about Geocoins. Do they get tracked like TB's, and if so, can some one please let me know the how to log it for tracking? Thanks
  13. Orange County, So. Cal. really, you ask someone here where they live...they say "orange county"...unless of course they live in "newport beach" or one of the other "prestige cities" down here! me, i just live in a little hovel by the freeway in O.C. with my little geocaching dog "sweetie".
