  1. ive tried filters . the not yet found. i have 1299 caches in gsak but when i filter to not yet found it shows 11??? filter to my found caches it shows all 76. filter to none it shows the 76 finds the 11 hiding and 1299 that i'd assume means not yet found.
  2. ok i'm premium member and use gsak and pocket quieries. works great. my question is. is there somewhere in gsak that i can check or uncheck the 76 finds i found and 11 i own so it doesn't add them to my gps? ive got gps set up to DING when 500 feet from a cache. and only want it to do it for caches i haven;t found. but i'd still like to have the ones i did find in gsak for stats perposes.
  3. ok i have a cache made up. about the size of a AA battery, but it gets attached to a larger item about the size of a car rim. would the larger item be the cache or the piece that contains the log? it would be a large cache if looking for the larger item but to sign the log you need the remove the cap and then remove log, so then it would be a nano?.
  4. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=193374 i have a nuvi 250 and this thread is what i found to be the most helpful, very easy to use the nuvi and really does work for true paperless caching, if your a premium member the pocket query are well worth the fee, if you really are getting into geocaching, http://pilotsnipes.googlepages.com sorry forgot to add click the link at the start of the thread, it has a walk through how to set up your nuvi,.

  6. ok i had someone find one of my caches and replaced the log. thank you , he was ftf. i went and checked on another cache and everything inside was dry, except the log in a ziplock baggy, was wet. i want to replace the log , should i copy the logs to the new one? or just replace the log, only about 5 finds on it. i don't mind copying it. i now i like to read some of the names on logs from the caches i find. thanks spolik.
  7. i too am using a nuvi250. once im there or close i touch the screen to show me the cords. then walk accordingly to get exact spot. then start looking for anything odd, are you looking for nanos, and micros? they can be hard, im still a newbie , but did find i nano the size of 2 watch batteries. wow small. if i take kids with me i'll search for larger containers. the nuvi250 will work fine for you, and with the poi loader and gsak program and being a premium member you can load 500++ caches to the nuvi so while driving down the road, any caches within .5 miles i'll (ding) to let you know. very cool option.
  8. thats about right. i have a garmin nuvi 250. with microsd card that i don't have so i load custom poi directly to the gps. i believe there is an option when loading the macros that ask will you be using the alert feature in poiloader, choose YES. to get the emails i had to check the day of the week i wanted to generate the query, i did it yesterday (wed) so i choose wednesday and i also choose to only create once and delete. once i choose the date it came to me in about 10 mins.
  9. i figured it out, i wasn't checking off a day to generate list , was just creating the query. it so much nicer to have the query on the gps , lots a (DING) letting me now there's one ahead, or 6 or 7 lol.
  10. how long does it take to get the zip file sent to my email? id like to drop it in gsak with all 500 finds. but im not getting the emails???
  11. thank you i believe thats what im looking for. hope it works out for me
  12. hello im a newbie and caught the geocaching bug , i love it, i have a nuvi 250 i have been downloading loc file to get the caches and manually typing the names so i know them. i decided to upgrade to premium member to get the gpx files that i thought would install the names and desription about the cache. i tried to do a pocket search . got the email and loaded them in easygps, it corrupted my gps, i had warranty so took back and got replacement. now id like to put caches on my 250 nuvi in a poi folder? is there a walk though for doing this.? my old gps had a sd card slot and i have sd card , but this newer one has microsd slot and i have no microsd cards. so could i put like 500 or less caches on the gps as poi?, im a little nervous to upload another corrupted file thanks in advance. spolik
