Wrong, it's not "their" standards, but "ours". And the USA are of course part of this system - the internationals standards are also appliccable over (t)here. USA as Member Body of ISO You must have missed the concept of "standards". They do not describe a majority usage, but the form that is recommended to use.

Trying to view a log coming from an external link I get following error message:

ISO standards also say that distance is measured in meters, A4 is a paper size and first day of the week is monday. Why would this site care about international standards in formatting dates? No, it isn't. The font size on the "my" page has been reduced to less than it was originally. Unfortunately it is now visibly smaller than the other standard text fonts the pages use (Opera 8.51, but that shouldn't matter). Please have another look into this. BalkanSabranje

You might not have meant the programming on the gc-"owned" pages, but its possibly true for this one as well: http://www.geocaching.com/my/ The other standard pages display just fine (like before the changes).

Over here, you have to have your driving licence with you while driving. Over here, it is legal to not have any ID with you; still - you have to prove who you are, which makes it necessary to carry some sort of ID with you (yeah, call it bureaucracy).
