  1. Just wondering if anyone had a problem with keeping a gps fix today, particularly in the Hampshire area. I was out today then all of a sudden I kept loosing the gps signal for no apparent reason.
  2. Sure there is but, please explain what help you are looking for so we can advise better.
  3. A brown bear, so unusual in the united Kingdom! ok so it was plastic!!
  4. I use GSAK software to edit the name so that the number is first. If you don't want to use GSAK, you can get XML Notepad 2007 free in which you can edit the cache description . http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7973
  5. Have you thought about running a Pocket query they clicking the blue rosette to list them in favorites order, it's a good way to see which ones people think are good and then you can open the cache page and see the reasons people favorited them. Running the pocket query you can filter out anything you don't like first.
  6. The change has been delayed for the time being and is not going in today as detailed on the post. Nate has updated the posting now so panic over.
  7. Does anyone know where I can get the sample XSD referred to in this post? http://forums.Ground...howtopic=275718
  8. Whilst out this morning I saw a cow taking a shower, when I got back home I saw the theme this month was water so couldn't resist posting this picture.
  9. Unfortunately the Satmap let's it's self down here - I don't bother with the bleep it is so quiet anyway.
  10. I'm having difficulty finding the recorded show is there a link you can post?
  11. P.S. If you use GSAK I'll point you to a macro that I've written for it. Also as new Satmap user you may find this forum useful
  12. Either download your pocket query or save an individual gpx file from the cache page to your PC. You don't need to unzip the pocket query. Open Satsync and connect it to satmap with your USB cable. Turn on satmap. Click on the satsync settings "spanner icon" top right Change the settings tab called OOI's Geocaches Import to how you want caches to import. Click on the import icon, the picture of gps with arrow pointing down. Browse to the gpx file and click open. If the geocaching icons don't appear you can download them here
  13. Wot, you mean like THIS That's the fella - order placed, thanks The alarm arrived yesterday - checked out worked well just need to find a way to secure it to the pole

  15. Thank you a practical solution at last keep them coming...... #22 is a practical suggestion, too. Sorry, you are right it is but I'm looking for something fool proof, I normally adopt your approach of leaving the stick in front of me except on the occassion I forget to do that you can bet your bottom dollar that it's the time I leave it behind. Ideally I was hoping that there was some kind of cheap alarm that would sound when I left the vicinity.
  16. I'm happy to help document with add a seperate map on my website www.geocachetrails.com if others are prepared to create the gpx files and provide ratings etc. I'm not a cyclist but think this would be a good extension to my site. If you are interested get in touch through my profile we can discuss. The K9 Crew

  20. Do you ever put your walking pole down when you retrieve the cache and sign the log book then walk off to the next one leaving your walking pole behind, suddenly realise and have to walk back for it? I do, so does any one have any tips for preventing this from happening? It struck me that it would be a good idea if there was a gizmo that attached to the pole with an alarm that attached to your belt that sounded if you moved a certain distance away - does one exist?
