  1. 1. You know it was a reviewer and not a Lackey how? 2. Why should they 'let you know'? Did you do it on purpose? 1. I don't know. I just know it wasn't me. Reviewer/Lackey = same thing to us 'commoners'. 2a. Because it is a cache that I created and maintain. Common courtesy. 2b. Originally - NO. (I use a Mac with Safari) - Later on - Yes.
  2. It wasn't me that changed it. I guess one of the reviewers took it upon themselves to do it. Anonymously, I might add. Just wish they had given me the courtesy of an email letting me know it was done. I noticed that all of the other caches listed have had their dates changed, also. Glad it isn't screwing with your program now.
  3. Your problem was solved a couple of hours ago.
  4. I have a webpage that I created when I couldn't find info on how to do this some time back. I still do paperless caching using this method. There are new programs out there that MIGHT be a better choice, but if it ain't broke - I ain't changing. Paperless Caching on a Mac I am interested in looking at GSAK using VPC, but ... maybe next week, or the next, I've got to go caching (paperless, of course).
  5. I wholeheartedly agree ... Erik goes WAY BEYOND the call of duty, and GPSFun is ALWAYS there. I don't see when they have time to cache! And of course, mtn-mam is mtn-mam - nuff said.
  6. Yea, cudlecub and Gaits claimed to have visited 18 caches here in N. Ga on the 12th. The downfall was that they claimed to have visited a 4/5 cache in addition to the other 17. We knew that they could not have physically done them all and started to compare notes and logs. He even claimed to have done my cache 'Surface Concavity' as his milestone 3,200th cache. Of course, this is BS and I even emailed and asked him to remove reference to it. He did remove the log, but not the reference on his profile page. Beyond the initial email response from him blaming everything on Gaits, my emails have gone unanswered. To date 15 of the 18 bogus claims have been deleted. At least Gaits fessed up and apologized to me via email, and is trying to gain some lost credibility in the geocaching community. I usually let this kinda stuff go, but his arrogance just rubbed me the wrong way. Oh well, his bogus, lofty numbers mean nothing to anyone except himself. Then again... he would think he is something 'special' even without the numbers. So sad ...
  7. I am going to be on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginny the 3rd week in August. We have a 50' houseboat and a lakehouse rented on the south side of the lake. Would appreciate recommendations for available caches. I see that the cache at the dam might be in No Trespassing territory. Anyone got the scoop for this area? Thanx phat.bak
  8. Yippie Ki Yay, Buckaroo! Thanky... Want me to tell ya who's next?
  9. Ace, Bucky, Elliott Bucky is history - (but I wish it would be 'strike a pose', Ace)
  10. September 25, 1991 @ Boston Garden, Boston, Massachusetts?
  11. I am also a Mac user. I put together this rather crude wepage. Maybe it'll help. http://home.alltel.net/tbone/macgps.html Contact me thru my GC profile if you have any questions. phat.bak Windows are for houses!
  12. That's OK. Thanx for trying. I'll just send an email periodically to his account. Maybe I'll get lucky one day, and he'll answer.
  13. robree: When is/was your LIGO meet?
  14. Thanx, robree. Your help would be appreciated. I don't hold much hope for ever finding it, tho. It was my favorite TB. Safe cachin'
  15. Does anyone know a cacher named CAMPNUTZ? He is a construction Manager and joined in January, 2005. Last visit was in April. I think he has my missing TB 'Can You Hear Me Now?'. He found 4 caches in the Long Island/Islip area, and hasn't been online since. I have emailed thru GC 3 times trying to get my bug back, with no reponse. Help if you can. Thanx
  16. Anyone in New York know a cacher that goes by the name CAMPNUTZ? I think he may have a TB of mine. He's only found 4 caches and hasn't been online since April. I don't think he knows what he has, and I'm just trying to contact him. Emails have been unsuccessful. Thanx
  17. I would be interested in a GSAK-like app for the Mac, also. I have put together a simple web page on Paperless Cachin' on a Mac. This is how I jump thru hoops to do it, but an all-in-one program would be worth the price.
  18. Find F.R.E.D. is a must-do! It is on my top 5 list of great caches. Try it.
  19. Welcome to America, my friend! Any recommendations for cache hunting in Germany? I hope to get there soon, as there doesn't seem to be any "dog s***, dumping areas or boring micros on a parking lot which were placed by throwing a can out of the open car window" caches there. Or is there? My kind of cachining local.
  20. Cachemate is now $8, but well worth it to me.
  21. You are DE MAN! Hope you find Another Cache soon. And thanx for approving all my lame ducks.
  22. You are right, this method does not touch on any mapping solution. All of this information IS transferred to the PDA from the GPX file. In CacheMate, these screens are included for each cache: Overview, Cache Information, Cache Description, Hints, Past 5 logs, and a screen to enter you own log. I haven't printed out a cache page in a year.
