  1. I wasn´t aware that I´m the last woman standing in Norway Historical Sites. A couple of times every year there is a new listing, and I have reviewed them. Norway could absolutely be included in a Scandinavian or Nordic Cultural Heritage category, but the Norway Historical Sites should still live on. It covers much more than a cultural heritage group based on official lists as kulturarv.no. Several waymarks in the heritage category are already listed in other categories, for example Medival Churches.
  2. I did use my old Palm m105 for paperless caching. It all worked fine until I got my new computer whithout the serial port. Whatever I do, I can't do the Hot Sync using the Converter! There is no contact between the computer and the Palm. The computer recognizes the new software (converter) and I have the proper drivers for the converter. Any advice?
  3. I'll mail you my adress! I'm sure other Norwegian cachers will place bugs for those who wants to participate without actually go to Norway. Other Norwegians who are willing to help a fellow cacher can use this tread. That way we can avoid that a lot of bugs starts in the same area.
  4. The travelbug race of the year! Or maybe the decade for some . The bugs are to travel through all Norwegian Counties. Rules, signing up and follow-up at the following website: http://www.elisabeths.net/norske_fylker.htm Be aware that you can sign up as soon as the bug is registered at geocaching.com, but the bug can not be placed in a cache before november 10th. Årets (for noen muligens tiårets) race gjennom alle norske fylker starter 10. november 2004. Regler, påmelding og oppfølging finner du på http://www.elisabeths.net/norske_fylker.htm Husk at du kan melde på din TB med en gang den er registrert på www.geocaching.com, selv om det ikke er lov til å legge den ut i cache før 10. november.
  5. Me too! I really hope there can be made an arrangement here. The maps at brillig are both useful and fun ... ouch ... we are geocaching just for the fun of it?
  6. I like the maps at brillig.com, but as for Norway the map hasn't been updatet since August 23. In a small country, 50 caches missing on the map i quite a lot You will find other maps of Europe here
  7. I read about geocaching in a Norwegian paper last summer. I was on fire immediatly, but since I am not a dedicated shopper at all, I spent most of the winter reading cachepages and forums and planning my own first caches. With no car and no caches nearby this seemed to be the only way of starting geocaching. I finally bought my GPS early in the spring and started placing the caches. My caches gets visitors but still noone else places caches in my area. I do read in the forums that a lot of people thinks it should be forbidden to place caches before you have found a lot of them. Who knows when I would be able to start geocaching if I didn't place them myself! With some common sence and good advice from rewiever and fellow cachers(still only in the forums), I think the caches are quite allright and I'm ready to spread the word about the sport. After placing a cache with my fourth graders (who are also going to send a travelbug to visit an american class of third graders in Ohio), it seems like some of the parents will take up the sport . If not, I will soon have to make a call to the local paper.
  8. I do like the Buxleys map, but lately they are not so quick in updating the list/the map as before. However, when I click on a cache, the listing on geocaching.com soon enough show me if the cache is archived. I have dicided to go on using the map, but always remember that it might not be quite correct.
  9. But this proves that your idea really was brilliant. Why not think of it as a compliment?

    Forums

It's the same for Norway! We have in fact two major forums! Still, some of us pop in here once in a while just to see what's happening. An odd thing about the Nordic forum here at gc.com is that we don't speak/read the same laguage. Think the forums should be made for simular language groups rather than geographical. I can easy read swedish and danish and even understand someone from Iceland, but finnish?? No way! Guess I couldn't read any post from Estonia, Latvia or Lithunia either.
  11. I re-posted the post in the two main Norwegian forums. As far as I can see, there is already someone on to the task :-).
  12. Thanks to both of you for your help! This was a question in a Norwegian forum and not actual just now. Made me qurious (as always). New knowlegde is never wasted though.
  13. If you first place a cache and then later on wants it to be a part of a multi, will there be a problem or is it just peace of cake to make the change? Of course with new approval of the multi.
  14. There already is this Norwegian cache for trig points Trig points in Norway . It's called a virtual, but I guess it is really a reverse locationless?
  15. That's because you spent a lot of time in the forums I suppose One of these every friday R K, and some of us can turn forum time into caching time
  16. For Norway there already is a very fine page for finding nearby caches to both smaller and larger cities: http://www.starte.no/index.php?module=Cont...display&ceid=22 Edit: I'm in the wrong thread, but still, the webpage is good
  17. There is no Norweagian tradition for translating geocaching words. However, if I come to use these caches for education, I will have to call it jordcache... When I first read of the earthcaches, I hoped that they would support my little series of really old caches I want to set up in my area (rock carvings, stone circel and a defence wall, all 1000-4000 years old). Reading the guidelines, I understand I have to wait for "histocaches". :-)
  18. I'd like it even better if it's the new virtuals!
  19. This one will give me a headache! Great idea! I've narrowed it down to three roads... still got two weeks on it :-)
  21. It' late night here, so I don't have time for an explanation. Check this forum thread: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=75412 Read it all and add it up Good luck!
  22. Sorry for the 3rd notice in a row, but this is amazing! 50 caches in my Palm... LONDON HERE I COME!
  23. Did finally find a download: http://desktop.plkr.org/downloads/msw/ Version 1.6.0.1! Download and install successful, now to the real adventure :-).
  24. I did find a plucker (reader?) and installed it on my Palm, but I can't get the desktopversion to download. I get a message saying that windows don't know which program to open the file in... Going to London tomorrow morning, tought it would be nice to try paperless caching (or sit up printing all night).
  25. Did look up your username and sent you an email around 7. Did find other user profiles that way too.
