Since the forum search function has never, ever, ever, in seven years, ever, ever worked for us, can anybody tell us what the new special attribute "Lost and Found Tour" is all about????
-
Now what gets me, is.... The people who travel in a pack, with multiple GPS's.
Really??
I don't know why that "gets" you. If you cache with your wife is that a "pack"? With your kids? With your buddies? With a geocaching group?
Our "Pack Caching" with large groups and long hikes thru the woods have been among our best experiences. Human beings like to congregate in groups, clans, fraternities, city states, what have you--it's what they do. Dogs, too. by the way.
Don't let it bother you.

Groundspeak SHOULD MERGE Waymarking INTO GEOCACHIN IN THE FOLLOWING WAY:
1. On your profile page, under Geocaches found, list waymarks found and for that matter waymarks added under Geocaches owned. Show the NUMBERS for each but keep them out of the totals, sort of like benchmarks.
Then waymarks would take off. It's all about the numbers. Part of the fun in a game is keeping score.

tennis shoes in a tree as worthy virtual caches.
wE HAVE DONE TWO tENNIS SHOE CACHES, ONE IN oKLAHOMA AND ONE IN iNDIANA, AND THEY WERE BOTH A LOT OF FUN!!!!!
-
DON'T TELL US WHAT TO DO!!!!
-
-
bring back virtuals , they were fun.
-
I have read your entire original post and I think it is not OK for people to log online without a physical signature. There is no way for you to know this isn't an armchair cacher who never found the cache. Delete his log.
This should have ended the thread.
-
Nano caches are the worst container.
No doubt about it!!
-
Let's bring back virtuals. just limit each hider to hiding only 100 of them!
-
Reviewers won't approve a premium cache if it is a bison tube, right???

I'm pretty sure that Mr. Buffett was born in Mississippi and grew up in Alabama before working in Tennessee and then finally moving to Florida as an adult. He's certainly not 'from' Florida any more than I am.
I guess that depends on what your definition of "from" is. It's a broad term, but does it mean born in, or grew up in or worked in?? More likely it means where you permanently live. From.
Where is Obama "from"-- Kenya? Philipines? Hawaii? Chicago? Washington, D.C.??
It doesn't matter. I challenge you to find where Buffet has used the word "Dadgum" .
Do you have a gripe against Florida? Lame Kiffin is "from" Tennessee. Heh, heh.

I cache mostly in northeast Florida (Jacksonville) and from what i have experienced "Florida Style" usually refers to the cache being obscured in some way by palmettos. id be willing to bet that it means different things to different people depending on what part of FL you are in.
I'd be willing to bet that there are pockets of people in different parts of Florida who may be well-meaning but unfortunately are very wrong and are doing a great dis-service to the World of Geocaching by perpetuating dangerous myths that just cause dissention, confusion and heartbreak After all, look at how many poor lost souls actually believe that bison tubes hidden under lamp post skirts on the wrong side of the tracks in an abandoned commercial area of downtown Smog City are somehow even remotely related to Geocaching????. GEOCACHERS UNITE FOR THE TRUTH!
-
Brilliant post. Nobody with an ounce of sense will attempt to attack it. However, I REALLY wish people would quit using this annoying phrase. In order for comedy to work, it has to have an element of truth. There is NO evidence of a healthy grey wolf ever making an unprovoked attack on humans in North America. Ever!
That fact has achieved urban-legend status. Here is your evidence.
Sorry for going off-topic.
Actually the article states there is no evidence to support either the wolf THEORY of the Bear THEORY. The experts disagree. No witnesses. For all we know, he fell and hit his head and died, then a whole slew of various scavengers fed on him...The headline is suspect "documented"? Nope.
Most all accounts of unexpected encounters with wolves in the wild state that the animals were shy and withdrew. Not so with Bears.
