  1. What contour interval is used on the NG maps? There are transparent contour line maps at xyzggmaps.omgfreehost.com Ibycus and others are downloading the data Census released last week and will be creating new maps using this data. The contour interval in my area is either 5 or 10 ft. They are 1:24000 maps. The Garmin ones I have are 1:100,000. I would like to get the better resolution maps if possible. Do you know what the contour interval is on the xyzggmaps?
  2. Can I load the National Geographic Topo 4.2 topo maps to my 60csx? I have the Topo USA 2008 and Mapsource and have used this to download the topo maps, but the NG topo maps have more topo detail. I would like to get a 1:24,000 map of Wisconsin on my gps.
  3. I would like to show the tracks on the topo maps as just lines instead of the dots and lines, then print them out. Is there a way to do this?
  4. Do you have to have a premium membership to do this? I have downloaded geocaches from the garmin website and didn't get any of this.
  5. I was debating the same thing as you, and I bought the 60CSX bundle with TOPO USA from REI. I just got it, did 3 caches this weekend and it worked great. The display is very good, and the TOPO map shows up very well. I was concerned after looking at the Oregon about screen brightness. Battery life also seems very good, I used it for probably 6 hours and the gauge still shows full. I got the bundle on sale for $335, didn't seem worth the extra $265 for the paperless caching, although that would be nice. You can still download cache info to the 60CSX, you just don't get the notes, descriptions, etc. It does put in the name and coordinates and shows it on the map. So far I have been very pleased with this unit.
  6. Thanks, that worked. Is there a way to get rid of the track dots? I am trying to create a map of logging roads and ATV trails, and would like to get different trail colors also if possible.
  7. I made some tracks with my 60CSX and uploaded them with Mapsource. I want to display them on the TOPO 2008 map with a thin line instead of the thick line and dots that they are now, then print them out as a map. Is there any way to convert these tracks to thinner lines?
  8. Ron, Saw your post. Did you ever come up with any Michigan maps? Thanks, Karl Pretty much the whole country is covered now. (with the exception of a couple tiny squares) Do you have a topo map for Wisconsin?
  9. Thanks. Just bought the 2gb card. Any advice on the maps?
  10. I just bought the 60CSX bundle with MapSource U.S. Topo DVD and 64MB MicroSD card, upgrading from old Eagle GPS. I have never used maps on a GPS. I will use this for hunting and geocaching primarily in Wisconsin, but occasionally out of state also. Is this map a good one, or is there something else I should look at? How big of a SD card should I get? Is there a max. size for this unit?
