  1. A game camera and a tranquilizer gun. And then ask nicely for the TB's back
  2. Can you change it to a premium only cache then see who keeps checking it through the "audit log"? But still I don't know what you could do about it anyway. I think this happens a lot at TB hotels.
  3. Tell the truth is key. Made me think of this story. I'd pulled off at a legal spot on the shoulder of a road that goes through a popular park in my town. it's a big park bordered by Chugach State park, and has many wild animals, I never go there without a sidearm. I darted off into the woods on a bee line for a FTF. Got my FTF and headed back. As I got back to the car what should I see but a trooper with patrol car lights flashing, peeking in my rig. You could imagine the questions he had for me. Luckily the truth, even while packing, can keep you outta trouble.
  4. PAF! When in the world did that become popular? When I started it was done sometimes, then it became the thing to do, then it became a given, and even to the CO. I thought this was a HUNT game. These PAF's usually never work anyway.. "I remember it being in a tree, with a group of trees surrounding it, and a knoll near by, it's a mossy knoll, it's in that tree that leans"......Du, I'm in the woods:) PAF got a little outta hand in this area too. That's one reason I don't do hints any more, and the phone stopped ringing as much. I also had one cacher mad at me for not giving a hint. "RUDE", they called me
  5. Love the photos hzoi. Frosty Buffalo is my favorite. Got family in Nash.
  6. A point system could be related to the D/T ratings.
  7. I'm not sure what "War Hammer" is but are the folks who play this game also interested in Geocaching? We'd love to have more players. Are they also interested in a game like this? It sounds interesting. I could see a group of cachers creating teams and counting the caches that are found to see who wins over a month or so.
  8. my most productive day is new Years Day. It's become my tradition of mine. An early event, then off for some caching around a new area, no matter the weather. In fact one year the Event hosted by cavyguy(GC390FE), out in Wasilla, was -20 and that's not the wind chill, and it was blowing. The photo on the cache page tells it all.
  9. I can't believe this either. I'm new to these forums but I figured in the ANNOUNCEMENT section there would be something, I didn't see anything there either. I'm lucky where I'm at(Alaska) our local reviewer sent an article to our state newsletter and a note on our forum pages.
  10. OMG this game can get soooooo stressful All the little games with in the game, How funny. I've been out in weather I had no business being out in (nor any other creature), just to complete or continue some accomplishment with this game You'd have to be half crazy, but I'm OK with that. I can't believe some of the streaks people achieve, The 31 days of August was pushing it for me, but I was crazy enough to do it
  11. I sure wish they would require validation. A n00b smartphone cacher who has not validated their account and has never visited the website picked up one of my Travel Bugs (mentioned it in their Found log) and I would like to educate them about logging trackables, but there is no way to contact them. Exact same thing just happed with one of my TB's Cycle. The cachers log write up only said "Coin".
  12. Thank you 1. So if you mark it missing and it shows back up, will the discoverer be able to log it still?
  13. I may keep a TB for a short while but I'll have it visit a cache from time to time and post a photo atleast, just to make sure the owner knows it's still caching about.
  14. Great question prickly, I wonder about this too and look forward to the replies. Just yesterday I was going through my list of TB's and found a number that where being held for some reason, in some case over a year. I sent a friendly note to a couple of the cachers just to see how it would go over.
  15. I haven't done many earthcaches but I always log the "found it" then send in my answers to the CO. Never had any issues or logs deleted, nor have I been asked to clarify an answer I gave. Come to think of it, that must mean I got 100% on all my tests that's NEVER happened for me.
  16. Which posts specifically seem fairly selfish to you? I only mean holding spots and intentionally holding up other ready to be published caches.
  17. This is why I don't mind the archival process. Holding up caches placements that are ready to go could be a real disappointment to a cacher, not so much to an experienced one who understands the issues, but if it's a newer cacher, it may really discourage them. I don't do a lot of the more complex caches, frankly I ain't bright enough, but I understand the enjoyment finders and creators get from them and think that great. But some of the last few pots sound fairly selfish which doesn't seem very geocaching-ish(if that's a word)
  18. Ya gotta go for the smiley and calendar date filling, no question. Bundle up like you're the kid from 'The Christmas Story", you know, so you can hardly move your arms and go for it. I've only got 2 days remaining and my calendar will be filled, and all before Tundra Tim, the leading geo cacher in Alaska. You can bet he's gunna hear about it.......more than once
  19. Funny! I like saying; It may not be missing, I may have just missed it
  20. I wondered about that to Pastor. Thank you for the reply
  21. As said, its perfectly legal to find and log a cache multiple times. As a CO if a cacher has logged one of your caches 100 times and has actually visited the cache on 100 separate occasions and signed the log each time you have no right to delete his log. Maybe its the only cache within 50 miles of his house and he takes a nice hike every two weeks. It may seem silly but GC.com allows it. Good point of view Boozle. A thought I never thought of before:) Thanks for the reply
  22. I'm new here and don't understand what the "subscription panel" is when I want to watch a thread.
  23. Hello from Alaska. I be interested to know more about what I need to do to play this fun sounding game. Is it for dog tag type TB's only, or coins? I'd be ready to send a little bug along it's way at a new years day event I plan on attending. Thanks for the idea diddle.
