  1. Wow, that sounds like the kind of plane to fly in!
  2. No - mine works with MapSource. I assume you must have heard something about USB - you can get serial cables for it, just doesn't come with one.
  3. I use a web-enabled cell phone - since my 60cs has all the maps, I just need access to the logs and hints (and they don't get much more current than that). On edit - granted, this might not be a good idea out in the Mojave desert.
  4. I am MORE than happy to wait until that doesn't happen! Thanks for the response!
  5. Strong responded to my request by sending me new ones. When I get them, I'll try all the various techniques described here and let you know how they work out.
  6. I got mine from www.offroute.com for $429. While a few bucks more than the others, they also give a portion of the sale to Groundspeak, which is worth the difference to me! P.S. I think you have to follow the link from Groundspeak for that to be triggered
  7. I had the same first impression (aside from the size issue) but earlier in the thread someone mentioned that heat and a credit card would fix that problem. I haven't tried it yet since so many people were getting free, properly sized replacements, I was just waiting for mine. Which never came.
  8. Hehe, you are talking to someone who needs a small electronic device to get him from point A to point B.
  9. Hmm, I never got new ones - I guess I'll have to actually ask.
  10. With what you have (USB cable): 1) become a Groundspeak member (if you aren't yet) 2) set up pocket queries to email you the waypoints 3) download GSAK (look for the thread around here for details) 4) load the waypoints into GSAK, export to MapSource 5) open file in mapsource, send to 60cs Note: This is not the Idiot's Guide - that would take more time than I have right now! P.S. EasyMPS works too and with one less step but I have no experience with it though so I dunno.
  11. I was thinking of a hollowed out black bowling ball with a foot of thick frayed rope coming out of it. Guess I'd better rethink that now.
  12. Well, if the hiders gpsr is accurate to 20-30 feet and yours is similar, you could still be 60 feet apart. So don't worry, be happy!
  13. Dang! That's more caches in one day than we've done in 6 months!
  14. He looks like he could use a GPSr in his hand
  15. Wow! Pretty amazing application! When can we expect USB support for the new Garmins?
  16. I was just trying out a new avatar myself
  17. Hey, Bill has the same GPSr as Bob!
  18. That woman might eventually spot a real terrorist traipsing down her street (maybe she'll have better luck next time), but someone should point out that it is more likely to be a geocacher that spots the real terrorists in the middle of the woods. We are everywhere so pointing out the benefits of having us crawling through every inch of the countryside would probably be a good idea once in a while.
  19. Hehe, well, at least they'll enjoy the same thrill we do at least once
  20. Whoa! Excellent, considering I'm already using GSAK! Thanks!
  21. I think that would be great as I'm trying to plan for a trip and it's not looking particularly easy. I think between two points with a x-mile corridor would be pretty easy but not sure following certain roads would be.
