  1. The photo PassingWind forgot to upload:
  2. Thanks, Chuy, I guess that means I can simply change channels to become an outlaw!!
  3. Nice! We're tied for 9165th place! One more cache and we'll be tied for 9129th!
  4. It probably is -- check this out: http://www.animatedlighting.com/products/christmaskit.asp
  5. Looks like a place we visited in Oregon, but that can't be it!
  6. In case it wasn't obvious, I meant that 8 of the threads at the top of the page were San Diego threads!
  7. Thanks, Chuy - I found the manual myself, but it wasn't clear which channels were FRS/GMRS (says 7 FRS, 8 GMRS and 7 shared - can't quite imagine how that works ) but if all I have to do is set it to ch. 3 then I don't care!
  8. This is probably a topic for another thread - I have a set of Midland GXT-250's - how do I know if I'm on a FRS or GMRS channel?
  9. Wow, hehe, that should be a seasonal virtual!
  10. It does! In one week, it'll probably have more posts than the New Jersey Thread has in 6 months! RECAP: Thursday: 6:30 AM at the park & ride off of I-8 and Lake Jennings (or 7 AM at SCCC #3) Friday: 8:00 AM at the same park & ride (I'll add a special icon to make this stand out)
  11. So Thursday: 6:30 AM at the park & ride off of I-8 and Lake Jennings (or 7 AM at SCCC #3) Friday: 8:00 AM at the same park & ride Is that the current plan?
  12. I'm sure a lot of us --- uh, those with a three digit cache count --- were thinking the same thing!
  13. ok, I could probably use a ride unless Rogue comes with me. It looks like my brakes are slowly failing on my car.... just found out it was down to 1/4 fluid.... Going to have to do work on it this weekend. Sounds good! BTW, that's probably a good spot to meet for the early birds on Thanksgiving morning! Is this it (with the arrow)?
  14. Friday, 8am works for us (we'll see ):
  15. Layers, smayers.. let's see, what does this button do...?
  16. Hehe, if you think that route is faster than the freeway, that's some Durango you've got! Must be those 30" wide tires! on edit - I might be mistakenly assuming no traffic!
  17. Um, okay - group caches from now on!
  18. whats wrong with 7am??? A little cup of coffe or Red Bull to get you going and its all good Hehe, I wasn't worried about that - we were going to make this a family outing and a 7am to 7pm caching day would probably do them in for a year or two!
  19. I think TrailGators idea of doing that after the Bear Valley ones would be good (assuming we don't start at 7am THAT day! )
  20. Here's an example with a topo map layered over it:
  21. Here's the SCC Cache listing again: No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, No. 8, No. 9, No. 10, No. 11, No. 12, No. 13, No. 16
  22. Great! Now you probably see why you need a program to do all your finds - it would be a bit tedious to manually do a couple thousand placemarks in the kml file!
  23. Just putting this out again so it's on the current page. I believe Chuy is bringing a 12' ladder and hopefully is brave enough to use it We're hoping to make it - but it's a long drive for us and 7am... But we're planning on trying.
  24. That's probably where it is - that was just the first cache listed in waypoint name order in GSAK (I snipped out all the rest). You can use that example to work out how to do the mouseover effect (it should work with that one). If you want the right icon, just go to a cache page, right click on the cache icon and save it to your computer and then point to it in the .kml file.
