  1. I'm new but this has to be one of the most disgusting things to find. At the parking place to go to a local cache I found 3/4 of a rotten deer carcass some local muggles left behind!! I called the Fish and Game Department to get Permission to remove the body as I have a hunting License and didn't want to be accused of killing this one not notching my tag and going for another. Permission was granted by phone and the area is now clean. Anyone have anything worse?
  2. Thanx for the link. Curmudgeonlygal already emailed it to me. Now can you fix my printer so I can print it? I'm laid pff so am leaving this a.m. for more hunts!
  3. I figured out how to use some of my gps functions. Enough to get my first find! I went at night because I knew the area well it is only 1 mile from my home. What was really neat was in reading the logbook I found out that The neighbor that I lived by a year ago is a geocacher too!I recognized his name.I went thru school with his brother.
  4. I like to read the logs at the caches. Hikers sometimes leave logbooks at mountain summits, I have signed these and read all the different places they were from, it was neat. Also on my first cache find tonight I found out a guy I grew up with and was my neighbor 18 years later before I moved again is a cacher too!!! I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't read the log book!
  5. I just did my first find and I did it at night. The reason was I know this place well cause I fish and walk there some. So I decided to do it at night so as to help hide the clues given and make an easy one harder. My wife and I loved it. I have bowhunted in the past and tracking my quarry after a hit has taken me into the woods after dark several times, thing look different and take longer in the dark. I have had to hike fot two hours in the dark and wade the wynoochee river in the dark to get back from a hunt. I've spent the night in the DEEPwoods too. Zingerhead was right one needs to leave a detailed plan. I would never trade my night experiences in the woods for any daytime ones and look forward to more geonightcaching!
  6. I amnew to this sport too.Ifound my first find tonight. I have a garmin 175 that I found on a highway 5 years ago the battery had becime separated when it fell off someones vehicle. it is also specialized for mostly marine use. But it does showlong and lat to 3 decimals and worked fine tonight.
