I currently have a geomate jr., which directs you to the nearest geocache. I'm wondering if it directs you to multi-caches?

I'm buying my first GPS, and I have no idea what to look for. I would like to spend around $200, $300 at most. I would like a handheld gps that is reliable, and fairly easy to set up. Any advice on what to look for?
