  1. I reckon the photos of the cachers on the website are fake as they are the best set of photos i've ever seen from a cache camera. If they are not fake, then where do you get them developed? ;-) The last set of photos that I got developed, only 2 were actually printed. One was black and the other was a photo of black branches.
  2. and congrats from me too - i guess all that practise makes it easy now
  3. thanks to everyone who attended the cache meet - i think there were about 30 attendees so I'm really pleased. Many more than I expected, especially for a midweek event. For a lot of people it was their first event and I think they were keen to come to more. For those of you who took tb's please remember to log them as there are about 4 left on the cache page.
  4. thanks - I had a look at the sample topozones and they look hand drawn on the back of a fag packet quality. (see sample picture on their site having said that, the sample "pro" version looks a lot better...
  5. Anyone got suggestions for (online) maps like the os streetmaps at streetmap.co.uk for the states? The os streetmaps combined with the streetnames make it easier to work out routes to the cache and the only maps i can seem to find have streets on but no features such as gradients, footpaths etc. Shows how spoilt we are over here....
  6. march stats? Last night you were urging me to send in my april stats!
  7. congrats from me too - how do you get the time to do them all?
  8. so do crushed polo mints - and they leave a pleasant after smell too - none of this nasty cordite smell
  9. congratulations from me and welcome to the hall of fame.
  10. Probably the same reason that Leeds Castle is in Kent!!!! I suppose it could be something to do with 'continental drift' and liverpool castle is miles from liverpool too.
  11. I'm afraid the disguise didn't work - recognised you too well!
  12. congrats from me too and how many wetherspoons pub have you found?
  13. we'll be there from 7pmish and will be eating. I've just done a quick tally up on the meet page which has my mobile number on) and got 28 people (including some I know who haven't posted) which isn't bad at all! I've warned the pub that the numbers of people may be larger than i originally thought so hopefully it won't be too much of a squash. Personally i'm hoping for a really nice dry sunny night to sit outdoors. See you all tomorrow.
  14. Cheapest way of wifi (and legal) whilst out on the road at the moment is to sign up for a free trial (until 1st May) on plusnet's wifi partnership with btopenzone - more details at plusnet
  15. doh! ERM.....think of an excuse for being daft.....errrr. Oh yes - I hadn't had my coffee this morning and browse the forums with graphics turned off :-) Actually i read the content and not look at the pictures!
  16. congrats from me too and welcome to the hof.
  17. i use them and change my name when i want to ignore deego :-) i don't find it easy to use in the forums though as there doesn't seem (unless i'm missing it) a way to pm someone from the forum page (ie this one) directly. you have to go to your messages and by which time you've forgotten the spelling of the user you want to pm.
  18. congrats from me too - that ted makes it easy to spot you in the photos from caches. See ya wednesday!
  19. an alternative that i use (but you do need to pay for) is musicmatch jukebox. I'm currently recording LOTS of tapes from my youth onto harddisk and then chucking the tapes to save moving them. A long process but am getting reasonable results. Audacity does seem to be raved about and one day i'll get round to trying it myself.
  20. ... sadly, like the 'normal' Google maps, doesn't work for UK caches nope but the following do:- UKSatView+++=http://uk.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=%lat&lon=%lon&icon=x&scale=5000 UKSatView++=http://uk.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=%lat&lon=%lon&icon=x&scale=10000 UKSatView+=http://uk.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=%lat&lon=%lon&icon=x&scale=25000 UKSatView-=http://uk.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=%lat&lon=%lon&icon=x&scale=50000 UKSatView--=http://uk.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=%lat&lon=%lon&icon=x&scale=100000 UKSatView---=http://uk.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=%lat&lon=%lon&icon=x&scale=200000
  21. thanks Clyde - thats 2 fixes I'm going to appreciate :-) Hope you had a good holiday.
  22. Just a bump and a reminder that most people normally post a "will attend" on the meet page isn't that right jstead and deego et all? (Would help to get a rough idea of numbers. You will need to find the clue cache though. A couple of newbies are coming as well as some event newbies too so a nice mixture of people.
  23. Ahh, of course, perhaps I should read more carefully... could be a suggestion for the export routines to have the files saved as %code or something....
  24. I will pop in for a cuppa :D It one of the caches on my todo list for the summer. (if I can find it ) cheers Deego - not going to get a chance to go down there myself - it'd be a 100 mile trip and the wife reckons I need to pack.
