  1. I'm also interested in the answer to this. We're new to goecaching, but we take many car trips and would love to be able to get a list of a dozen or so caches along the way.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys! Guess I'll be stopping to do some shopping for stuff this week.
  3. Well, after going on on few caching trips (11 found) my wife and I are definitely hooked, so now we're going to dive in head first. Ordered the data cable for my Yellow eTrex and we're excited to take our first all-day cache hunting vacation. Anyways, we're trying to put together a backback to take geocaching with us, and was wondering what we should put in it. Here's what we've come up with so far, but I do have some specific questions. We'll obviously have our cell phone and GPS, but in addition, we're packing this stuff: 1) Camera 2) Some clothes (dry socks...etc) 3) Trash bags for CITO 4) Extra batteries for GPS 5) Printouts from gc.com for the caches we're hunting (not going paperless yet) 6) Chapstick / Gum / Water 7) First Aid kit. 8) Pen and pencil for signing logs. 9) Items for trade We also want to put together a cache repair kit, but we're not really sure what we should put in it. What's a good list of items for a cache repair kit? Also, are there any other items that we might be missing that you think we should take with us?
  4. Aha! GPSGeek was where I was looking. Thank you!
  5. This is my first post, and I'm pretty new to geocaching. We just have the Garmin eTrex (yellow) and the wife, kid and I have logged 11 finds so far. Yesterday we wanted to do six, and after putting the coordinates in by hand, I had about enough of it and decided to get a cable to download them. I know I saw links posted for these before, and I thought the cable was about $8, but now I can't find the link (typing in "cables" does not make for good search results), and the cheapest I've been able to find has been in the $35 range. Maybe I was looking at something else and my mind is fuzzy, but didn't want to overpay.
