  1. Happening with Windows 7 in MA. No problem with IOS. Anniebananie
  2. How do they count Challenge finds in the cache count, but Challenge caches placed are not listed in caches owned. At least be consistent and count finds seperate from physical cache finds. Anniebananie
  3. Garmin had this technology (portrait & landscape screens) on the Garmin GPSIII+ over 10 years ago. Anniebananie
  4. NG has a special in effect. Buy one map product and get one free. See the NG website for details. EMs has a 30% discount on all NG state maps. Anniebananie
  5. Had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Disappeared after cycling. Anniebananie
  6. Well I am back to two-timing again (60cs & 400t). Twice last Sunday while on an nine mile cache hike I had 60-80 foot drift with the 400t. The other four cachers with 60csx's were over there and I was over here with the 400t!! This was the first time I have noticed it in two months. Today on a pre-winter maintenance run of three caches I own, I had another drift of 60 feet. Both times it came into compliance after cycling it on and off. This cannot continue. What do we have to do to get Garmin's attention? Please disregard my optomistic post of November 13. Anniebananie

  8. Well I finally did it today!! After nine months I went cold turkey today and left my 60CS at home and went caching with only my 400t. I did this because I have had no issues since the update. Had a great day finding two new puzzle caches. I really think the drift problem has been solved. I find the accuracy to be very good since the upgrade. Anniebananie
  9. Just got the latest sale email from EMS and they have the 400t on sale for $399 - a $200 or 33% decrease from their recent retail. Are we seeing Garmin abandoning us? Anniebananie
  10. We have had at least a half dozen over 400 feet over four months. Anniebananie
  11. Looks like you can change the symbol of waypoints to a geocache or any of the symbols on the 60CS. Mark Waypoint>Edit>Change Symbol It shows up as a Cache Symbol on the map, but still appears on the WP list and not on the GC list. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Anniebananie
  12. Great News. Will download it right away. Anniebananie
  13. After being frustrated for three months with time and location errors on my 400t SN18z0036xx I returned it and two weeks ago received one with SN 18z021XXX. This week I found 18 caches all with a distance of less than .25 miles. I used the automotive mode to get to the parking and geocaching mode to find the caches. I also had my 60CS to verify the 400t's co-ords. I will not cache without the 60CS until I am sure the 400t is accurate. 18 caches with no deviations. I was a happy cacher. I have since gone to two caches that are over a half mile walk. In both cases the 400t started to diverge at about .4 miles from the parking. I got it to come back to the 60CS co-ords by cycling on & off. After that the walk to the caches was uneventful and the 400t and the 60CS mirrored each other. It is very frustrating not to be able to trust the GPSr to be right. Is that not why we have them? It is apparent to me that there still is a problem. Hope a fix comes very soon. Anniebananie
  14. After spending four hours trying to autoroute to a cache, I got a reply from g-o-cashers to try 2.51 and it worked. I just received a replacement 400t today(time problems) and thought that v2.50 was the same as 2.51, and it is not. If you want to autoroute you must upgrade to 2.51. Thanks g-o-cashers. Anniebananie
  15. My replacement 60cs had the same problem. Try it on external power. Mine worked on external but not on batteries. It took a vacation to Olathe. Anniebananie
  16. What you are asking for can probably be attained by using itsnotaboutthenumbers.com. It tells all caches that you both have found and those that each one of you have found. The caches not listed would be the ones that neither of you have done. Anniebananie
  17. I wonder if there have been any of these problems using the 400i or 400c. Can you imagine what might happen if you were on a boat and you thought you were on course but you were actually were .14mi from the charted course. Anniebananie
  18. Was out today on Mt Monadnock NH today and the location error appeared again. With a 360 degree view, no trees and a 1500 foot elevation rise over nearby terrain my 400t had a GZ of .14 mi. and the 60CS was 120 feet from the cache. Wass and backlight were on. This has happened to this unit at least two times before. After shutting it down it had 119 feet. I have an RMA and will also be returning this early unit(3XXX). Anniebananie
  19. Just got off the phone with tech support and got an RMA for a replacement 400t based on the time issues. I also explained the position errors and the tech seemed very interested in the problem. Anniebananie
  20. I have had the same clock problems from day 1 also; about 10 weeks ago. I also talked to tech support twice and was told that the problem would be solved with the next firmware update. The unit ID is 18Z0036XX. There was no offer for a replacement machine. There are also issues of co-ords being off over 400' on at least four occasions and having to turn the GPS off and on to get a good fix. Having great battery performance though. I will be calling for an RMA tomorrow. Anniebananie
  21. Just got notified from gpszone that my 400t ram mount was shipped today. Anniebananie
  22. If you knew GOCASHERS as I do you would know he does this for the love of the sport. He is one of the finest cachers in New England. We should all thank him for his dedication. Anniebananie
  23. I have had my 400t for about two months. Despite some of the same issues others on this board have had I have had no accuracy problems until yeaterday. On a return visit to a cache I had DNF'd on Tuesday, the 400t had GZ 350 feet from where it was the day before. My 60cs was dead on with the previous GZ. After turning the 400t off & on it registered the 'correct" location (the same as the 60CS). Today my wife and I were out for a day of caching and a similar thing happened; three times out of thirteen caches the 400t was off by more that 300 feet while the two 60CS's we have were 17 feet from GZ with a 14' epe. Powering off did the same thing as it did yesterday, it corrected the GZ to a similar reading of the 60CS. How can we be sure the distance is correct if it is right sometimes and wrong at others? Will I have to use the 60cs when I approach gz? This is beginning to become very frustrating. Anniebananie
  24. After working last night for the first time( I turned it off and on four times over 3 hours and had the correct time) it had last night's time when I turned it on this afternoon. Maybe time to send it in. Anniebananie
  25. Looks like the have fixed the issue of the clock not updatating the time until a sat lock was obtained. I now have the correct time when the 400t is turned on. Garmin support said it would be fixed with this update. Anniebananie
