  1. very very true but its interesting to me to see what people like and don't....
  2. I don't care to see hate, violence or politcal coins. Erik you are so right that some people view guns when caching as a tool and others would be offended. For me they are a tool. Where I live there has been in the last few years many drive by shootings, heck they even happen while sitting in your car at a street light. It prompted me to get my own concealed weapons permit so that when I am caching in certains areas of Idaho I have my gun. Also we live in a desert like terrain in some places and have cougars and rattlesnakes. Since my husband is mostly muggle I take my gun in order to protect us. I also have guns on the back side of my v2 mrs. potatohead coins but that is me in another hobby of ours. I'm sure some people might be offended by my guns just as some are with the Christian saying on my v1 coin. You just can't please everyone. Rifleman...PLEASE make your gun coin!!! I'd buy some!! I love guns and we shoot competitively and I would not find it offensive...go rifleman go!! FYI....it was said if you want to make a coin that might offend people (or something to this effect) make it a non trackable coin. Well this would work as long as you do not put the Groundspeak logo on it. If you choose like I did to use the gc.com logo, you will still need to obtain permission from Groundspeak and then you can never sell it.
  3. I received a Geocoin Fairy copper AE in the mail a few days ago!! whoohoo!!
  4. I've been sooooooooo blessed this week!!! Mickey Diver Geocoin - whoopie!! And some really great Lordzogat sig tokens...they are worth trading a geocoin for!!
  5. I went to get the mail a few days ago, looking for some trades coming in and mixed in with some padded envelopes was this tiny little card to me from me. I thought "that's interesting...if it were a padded envelope I'd think it was a mystery geocoin - but no don't even go there LD" and saved myself some torture and put it from my mind. Came into the house and put everything to me upstairs on my desk, waiting to open them until evening when the boys had gone to bed. About 3 hours went by and it was almost time to leave to take our boys to swimming lessons when I looked over at the stack with the little envelope still on top. I was again, thinking mystery coin but then convinced myself it was a thank you for a recent wedding or graduation gift sent. "Don't go there LD" I said to myself again and went downstairs. An hour later, came back upstairs and thought...ok just open this one envelope and get it over with to prove to yourself that it is NOT a geocoin and get on with your day already! OK, plan in motion. Sliced open the top and see something to make me think perhaps I was wrong...and boy did my heart start pulsing rapidly! Said to myself a dozen times..."NO WAY" while holding it down to my side and closing my eyes. Finally got 'brave' and opened it the rest of the way...and guess what?? I WAS WRONG!!! WHOOHOO!! It WAS a geocoin in fact it was the MICKEY DIVER mystery coin!!! oh boy was I surprised and extremely estatic!! I don't feel like I did anything special to get this...but boy oh boy am I one happy coiner today!!! Thank you Mickey Diver for sharing your generosity with me!! I dug out our old photos (took me a few days lol) to show you that indeed I am a fan of yours though I never did see Mickey at Disneyland....at least I got to get my pic with Mickie's sweetie. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

  11. Shop around....and ask around...you'll find out soon enough who's reliable and who's not. If you don't ask you won't know. I've had several people ask me and I tell them my experiences....
  12. In 2003 our very good friends went back to their homeland and discovered geocaching. These are the same people who taught me how to shoot a gun so I wouldn't be a cowboy action shooter widow since my husband had recently discovered that hobby and I had yet to learn. So anyway while on their trip they called me from Las Vegas, Nevada and told me go to www.geocaching.com and check it out!! I laughed because they will try anything but it got me curious so before I went to bed I went online and checked it out. It was very intriguing after reading the website I saw that there were several near our home. The following days I went out trying to find a cache without a GPS because I couldn't stand it!! I ended up running into two men while out on the trail and we smiled and said hi but nothing else. When I got to the parking lot I noticed their license plate and saw the geocaching name of one of them and I just got so excited because then I knew for sure they were cachers!! I went home and asked my husband for a GPSr for Christmas and on Christmas day I opened it up and was obsessed after that!! lol One of the men I ran into that day, had hidden 80 caches near me...and I thought it would be fun to hide a few before he took those spots and thus started my planting caches passion. He happened to be the lieutenant of our local law enforcement and we became fast friends online due to our common interest. I also had it in my mind that if I got a few out there I could surprise my friends when they came back to Idaho as I hadn't told them yet what I had gotten for Christmas. I had 25 planted by the time they got back home lol and I had made many more friends by then and discovered a great many places with my family!! I'm still thankful to this day they called me and told me about geocaching. Thanks for the cointest Steinwälzer
