Well,, Once Again were still pretty new but weve had 2 close encounters, one was just the other night!!I was night caching and sat down on a bench neer the cache. After about 10 min, a huge winged bird flew over me,, at first I thought it was an eagle, but it landed in a big tree behind me,, and started hoooing!! I have never seen an owl before!!! Its alot biger then I thought,, I put my flashlight on it to see how cool looking this bird is,, he was white with lots of shades of whites and greys,, and their face is flat looking!!! Fantastic bird!!! I stayed put till he decided to give me one more close up by flying right over my head with he's wings fully extended out,,I said to myself"thats a big bird" I was in awww..and couldent wait to get back home to tell the wife!! The other one,We were on a trip to Steamboat. We were caching on the way up there and back. We had already did the hike with the lil one and had found the cache, we were sitting on the trail and I had just got back down the hill from retriving it while my wife waited with the lil one and our belongings in the wagon, at the trail. So we were all sitting, talking quietly,signing the log and looking thru the stuff in the cache,, when all of a sudden a White tailed fox pops out from the hill I had just come down and walked down the hill about 15 ft from us on the trail. Course ,,I Grabbed the camera and turned it on, He looked at us over his shoulder very casually and walked off down the trail,,I was able to snap the photo as he was leaving about 25 ft from us. So after about 10 min we were done with the cache,,so I went to put it back just up the hill on the right of the photo, as I was re-hiding the cache I could hear my wife yelling "Go AWAY",, I knew right away that the fox had come back and was close, so I shot off like a bullet down the hill and the fox took off running. After thinking about it,I think we might have been mistaken for food for a bit there, and the fox was coming back but did not expect me to be up the hill so, when I Shot out of the brush and he saw I wasnt sitting down so I looked alot bigger and he wasent hungry anymore.,,hahaha,,,close call tho. It was a good thing the cache wasent very far away from them!!!! hope you enjoy our story,,and thx for the cointest.

WAS NOT ABLE TO EDIT SO I DID THIS,, BUT WE LOVE TO CACHE IN THE DURANGO, ESP. IN THE MOUNTAINS,,,I THINK JUST THE THOUGHT OF IF WE NEED THE 4 WHEEL,,WE HAVE IT,, AND SCENCE CACHING WE CAN ACCESS CERTAIN ONES WE COULD NOT HAVE IF WE DID NOT HAVE IT,, NOT TO MENTION ALL THE SWAG YOU CAN FIT IN THE BACK!!!1LOL

WOW!!! HEY,,THX FOR THE COINTEST,,) ITS AWSOME TO READ ALL THESE STORYS OF GR8 CACHING, AND AWSOME RIDES, CANT WAIT TO SEE WHO WINS,, THERE ARE SO MANY COOL ONES HERE-BUT -WERE KEEPING OUR FINGERS CROSSED!! GL EVERYONE!

WELL HUMM,, SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM,, OoPS(CAPS) well ok, My daughter and I,went out for an eave cache,about 5 pm,, it was at a well used park. When we got there, it was flooded with football players,, so I thought mabie well goto the swingset first then to the cache,, so we did,, while sitting watching my 1 yr old play,, I turned on my gps,, I was sitting on the cache!!!! But so many kids and other muggles around I couldent crawl around the rock I was sitting on to find it, there were other parents sitting in the benches behind me and some at the pavillion about 25 ft from me,as well as many kids at the playground , so I waited and waited, and let my lil one play! Muggles would go then I would stand up and some muggles would come sit down. This went on for about an hour and a half,, I was going crazy knowing I was sitting "right" on it. and couldent just grab it!!!aaaahhhh!!!!! I decided I would not be able to get this one with out risking the cache,and it was getting dark,,so we left. On the way home there was one close by so we stopped,, it was at a bike trail that followed a creek,, and it was dark so I Grabbed the flash light, the cache bag and the lil one and off we went. After a short hike, we come real close to it,, but couldent figure where,, so after a look around in the dark I figured it was under this bridge we had crossed, but the only way down was this real steeeep cliff way.. I turned around and thought"" no way, not in the dark"" but I was having the dnf blues!! I needed to overcome this!!! so with my hands full of baby, flash light, and geo-bag, and the extra 30 lbs from the lil one. We went and looked over the edge,, I Knew if I lost my footing, we would be hurt and probably pretty bad,, so slow as a turtle I inched my way down , felt like 20 min to go 30 feet,, we made it to the bottom to discover the creek a few ft from us and we were standing in a drainage ditch,,luckly it was dry, my arm was pumped up from holding the baby and about to cramp ,, so I swiched arms and bush wacked my way along a creek bed, standing on the cache finally on my gps. So I put the baby down,, shuk my arm to get some blood back in it and looked some more.....but couldent find it.. all I seemed to find were spider webs,, so I sat down wiped my head of the sweat and low and behold behind all the spider webs I could see some camo tape,, so now I had to grab the baby and find a stick to clear out the webs,,, no stick!!! AHHHH!!!!! my arms were killing me from holding the lil one,,,so I grabbed a few rocks and finally got it ,,this had not been found in some time, as you could not see it due to so many webs built in front of it,, we logged in and with a smile we had to go climb out of the drainage ditch with arms full and cramping up,,, but at least we got it,,and got out of the dnf blues!!!!!!!

WELL,, IM STILL PRETTY NEW TO THIS,, BUT WE DID TAKE A PICK OF THE SUV RIGHT B4 WE WENT ON A 4X4 RIDE TO COMPLETE THE MISSION OF THE TB, THE TB WAS A KEY TO A BAJA , I HAD ABOUT A 10 MIN HIKE TO THE CACHE WHILE THE WIFE WAITED INSIDE THE DURANGO, WITH THE SLEEPING BABY,SO I WENT AND GOT THE CACHE,, BROUGHT IT BACK SO THEY COULD SEE IT AND TRADE IN/OUT, THEN TOOK IT BACK,,THEN BACK TO THE DURANGO ,,I TOTAL I WAS HIKEING FOR 40-50 MIN BACK AND FORTH, ENJOY THE PICS(NO GPS) BUT DID HAVE A TB ,,HOPE YOULL COUNT IT IN!! THX AND ALSO I WAS THE FIRST TO LOG THIS JEEP TB

ROD:;"The first two are from our climbing of Turtlehead Mountain in Las Vegas, this was the last time Tod and I climbed. We had climbed both of the tallest peaks in the Red Rock Canyon a few years before and wanted to get the cache at the top of Turtlehead before we were just too old" ROD:;"The one with him sitting is from our first Lazy Hayes Days camp/cache event, this is the Sunday breakfast gathering. We'd put on quite the event, cooking up 150 lbs of ribs, setting out 25 new caches (all loggable, not temporary) and hosting the Sunday breakfast...great fun indeed. I wish I had the picture of Tod and I cooking up the ribs, one of my favorites. Someone else took the pic and I don't have it downloaded to the computer " ROD:;"The last one was from the 2006 Geobash, we were messing with MaxB on the River (that's Warren Tod is standing behind, he's Maxine's husband) We were keeping a TB away from them as a gag which lasted a whole year, Tod was displaying the TBs behind Warren's back lol." WOW!! I won twice?!?! I wasent sure if I had won or if I should have stoppd,,but was afraid to put anything other then ,,,,,,look twice,save lifes,,...I have a few bikers in my family,I will have to see whats important to them- for others to know!!!
