  1. Well, the CO disabled it last year and the reviewer enabled it and deleted the reviewer note. Many of us have asked to adopt it, but no responses.
  2. Once upon a time I believed exactly what you posted. But this makes me doubt it.
  3. So you feel it's okay for me to create an account and toss out caches for the community to maintain and I never have to log in again or even take part in this game? Thanks for reminding me why I have lost interest in geocaching. I see no need to renew my PM to support something I once enjoyed enough to pay for.
  4. It sure is interesting. I once saw a dead tree covered in pennies hammered into it. As for Waymarking it, I would have no idea where to list it.
  5. As a player of both games I have not encountered any Pokemon GO stops or gyms in cemeteries, but I have geocache placements in a few. Respectfully placed of course, not close to any graves but along the fence on the outside, except for one in a very remote old historic cemetery. It's inside of a wall around the cemetery. I enjoy exploring those places.
  6. Geocachers in a dispute here in my home State got geocaches on VDOT property banned. I know Tennessee and South Carolina have Laws to prohibit geocaching in cemeteries, so is this a local or State ban on GPS games in cemeteries?
  7. Then why post NM on your own listing? Wrong or not, GS agreed and removed that option.
  8. I believe it is a good idea. I never needed help maintaining my own caches, but that was before TD's became the normal. I never thought I would be that person that props up other people's caches that they no longer care for, but I have ended up with lots of geocache containers like lock-n-locks and ammo cans. I won't help out the locals, but I maintain several "vacation caches" that the owners have abandoned.
  9. If a CO needs to flag their own cache as NM, then it may just be a suggestion that someone else maintain it for them. That said from someone who had listings in the hundreds.
  10. I thought the purpose of a NM log was to alert the CO that their cache needs attention, not for the CO to post the fact that their cache is in need of attention.
  11. I see too many old members leaving this game and the community keeping up their old caches. I replaced several on my last geocaching excursion to West Virginia when we found the oldest in that State. All had inactive owners. I do leave nice throwdowns that are well stocked.
  12. I've had GS reinstate my logs as well, once cause I was not impressed with a gadget cache because it's log is a tiny little nano. I do believe that web cams and virtuals were too problematic for GS to constantly have to mediate, thus the Waymarking site was created. GS seldom gets involved there.
  13. Isn't problems like this why GS grandfathered web cams and moved them to the Waymarking site so the owners can police them without involving GS?
  14. I would want proof of visit as well if it were my web cam. I did see where you have allowed others to log a visit without phooning, but they posted a close up.
  15. They actually visit but you want to force them to phoon in their visit photo so you delete their log?
  16. Sorry, but I would not poon to log your web cam. I would gladly submit my photo, even a close up, but not pooning.
  17. Geocaching is alive and well. Only the game has changed.
  18. Imagine Wherigo being an AR game that scores points to unlock different levels. I believe it would sell. Naintic is already working on Harry Potter GO. It's old members/players that are leaving, so I believe geocaching needs to attract new members. Hunting film pots under lamp skirts is just too boring. AR games seem to be the popular choice for the younger generation.
  19. Are Geocachers Hostile To Other GPS Games Players? No, not out here in the real world from my prospective. I had an idea of Waymarking Pokemon GO stops that resulted in the thread being locked. Ingress and Munzee are pretty much nonexistent in my area. If the question was are Geocachers hostile to other Geocachers then my answer is a definite YES.
  20. Sorry, but not even if it were Chef Boyardee I do not support the idea.
  21. Sorry, but Michelin only brings to mind the tire company to me, and they are over priced for the quality. I'm sure it's different in France. I don't think it's a good Waymarking idea.
  22. I did not, and still don't exactly understand. Or maybe I'm confused. I associate the name Michelin with the tire company. If I were dining at a 5 star restaurant, and the fat little tire guy has awarded those stars, maybe I can get an oil change and tire rotation at the same restaurant?
  23. I was totally unaware that the tire company has anything to do with restaurants. Sorry, but I don't find it of any interest. Maybe in France, but not here in the US. We have Hardee's Star restaurants.
  24. It is part of a geotrail. I figured the "it's attached to a 2x4" was for the reviewer note. They may be a yearly thing, archived to make room again.
