Broke arm/leg? What kind/rateing nano is this? Sure you found the Right thing? I thought that I found a real tough nano in a park once, turned out to be the dog owners info on his collar. GRRRRR!

Hey GeocoinGuy, I have a metal stamp with my last name that I use to mark my geocoins and make my persosial swag with. It still don't seem to help discourage geo-jerk coin mugglers. I would never use my stamp on another persons property unless it was a geocoin mugglers ear.

I saw the picture of your cacheing crow geocoin, I checked to see if it was mine. I have one just like it. I met the geocacher that is holding it at a geoevent. He is a true geocacher, I'm sure he will place it this summer. Probally in a camp ground, he's a camper. I collect geocoins that I own, it is hard to find them in the wild because too many people steal them. If I do place one I create a members only cache or hike so far into the deep woods with an ammo can that has a chain and lock on it.

Are forums a good place for information?
Manville Possum replied to Manville Possum's topic in How do I...?
Thanks, we joke with each other on the c.b. out on the big road. It helps to pass the time and is all in fun. Briansnat sent me a warming about a comment I made about Keystone in the unlisted caches forum, I did'nt mean to hurt his feelings and did not know reviewers were treated any different than other forum users. I have a unlisted cache for my discovery coins only. I am one of less than five geocachers that place caches in my area. I will keep cacheing just like I used to, but will no longer use any forums. The mistake that I feel I have made is paying to be a member. Big Rig. -
Is this a place for information, or just another way to degrade each other? Big _igger.

Examples of why we need to check against disabled caches: Awaiting a land manager permit (this can take months, such as for a Pennsylvania State Forest) Timing the release of a "Tribute" cache for when the honoree reaches 1,000 finds Timing the release of 10 caches, hidden over three weeks, to be published on the day of an event cache Owner does a "coordinate check" and goes to hide the cache two weeks later after getting an OK for the spot There are many other examples. We see these week-in and week-out. Imagine you were the hider in one of the above examples. Would you like it if someone swooped in and stole your spot with a hastily planted cache in the nature center's parking lot that messed up your elaborate multi that you were almost ready to submit? A quick check shows this person has geocoins in unlisted caches also. Practice what you preach. I was not talking about you, but a reviewer.

Hiding a geocache in an area that may be used by bow-hunters
Manville Possum replied to Lanni's topic in How do I...?
Why not? Why not wear a deer costume? Becaue you might walk under my brother-in-law Leroy's treestand and he'd just say "cool" this one's got a zipper! when he starts to field-dress you. Leroy probally kills more deer with his pick-up truck than his bow. Rember some people hunt with bows because they can't own firearms because they are felons or domestic violance offenders, like Leroy. -

I also am a avid deer hunter and I have some caches in hunting areas, I just disable them during deer season. I also have been accidently shot by another hunter. Hunting is illegal on sundays in the Commonwealth of Virginia but not in Tennessee which is close. Blaze orange is required during rifle season in Virginia. We joke with our neighbors in Tennessee about UT's color being orange, so they can wear their colors to the football game saterday, hunting on sunday and picking up AL cans on the roadside the rest of the week. Rember hunters will get very upset if they hike in before daylight and climb a treestand just to have someone cache by their hunting spot, I will not risk it or put others at risk. We all love the outdoors but we all need to love and respect each other. -
If you *must* create a cache for this, please read this good advice. Then re-read it. Your reviewers thank you. There are dozens of coin caches in my review territory, and they do indeed create false positives when we run our test for cache saturation. I don't understand "false positives". Can you explain it to me real slow? I don't want anyone to see the listing or cord.s to cache/moonshine still site. Is there any other way to make my own coin locker? Seems like this is the way hard core cachers, 5000+ finds are doing it. It's on my property and no other cache can be placed near it.

I did make me a unlisted cache, just to drop MY discovery geocoins in. Someone else has a cache close by that I "dip" geocoins in for milage.

On the way to our first event today. Holi-daze at Bays near Kingsport, tn.
-
o.k. but how to you create a not yet published cache?
-
Seems like some cachers keep their personal geocoins in a not yet published cache. What's the deal with this & how is it done?
-
Yes, ebay is the place. I just upgraded from a legend i've had for about five years to a vista I got on ebay for $71.00 new/never been used.

Sorry Jim, but I type real slow & can't see them little letters as well. I did take the advice about the email (in lower case letters) & was nice & tryed explaining my sitsuation about the geocoin to him. If that don't work, I'll just change the mission. I may get a chance to buy it back on ebay or at a pawn shop.

i don't know; if i have your coin and i don't see a reasonably secure and stable cache to drop it in, i keep it until i see one. ..unless you send me an uptight email in all caps, in which case i drop your coin into the next cache i find even if (especially if) the next cache i find is a leaky gladware out in the open in a busy cruising park.
