  1. I like virtuals. I prefer the gps part of caching more than the crawling around sifting through leaves part. I like history, I like interesting places. I'm satisfied when I get to some odd place I've never seen before more than I am trading a toy car for a whistle. I'm new to this and unfortunately came into this game too late. I wish new virtuals were allowed. Then the seeker would still have the option to not look for the virtuals if they didn't want too.
  2. I ordered a bunch of ammo cans from cheaper than dirt a few years ago. The guys who "de-mil" these things must not pay too much attention because one came with a box of .30 cal. tracer ammo still in the box... unless it's illegal to own this stuff and you work for the government. In which case: I made the whole thing up.
  3. I made this one up a couple of weeks ago and may sit on it for a while until the rain stops (the NorthEast is pretty wet now), the weather warms up, and I decide on the perfect spot. It's got 12 feet of plastic leaf "garland" attached with wire clips and riveted to the box.
  4. For me: location. I actually don't care if there's nothing to find as long as I've seen somehting cool that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. And I'm talking aobut odd ball stuff. I don't want to go to some virtual that I can find in a historical guide from the park service, I want really obscure insider informtion on the wierd places to go. My daughter (4 yrs old) cares about the "treasure" more than the location.
  5. I'm prtty new to this. my brother took me out a couple of times and I decided to take my wife and daughter out. My wife likes the walk in the woods, my 4 yr old daughter doesn't really understand what the GPS has to do with it but keeps saying "I bet it's over there" at random places as we walk throught the woods. After I find it, I take her to the spot and let her think she found it. She loves to trade trinkets. She draws treasure maps now. You know: just dashed lines all over a piece of paper ending with an X and brings one along to find the treasure. I probably enjoy her having fun more than I enjoy the hunt myself.
