As a senior geocacher, i found myself halfway to GZ b4 i scoped out the area ahead. I totally believed the terrain rating. By then i was as they say, too far gone to turn back. Was there an "easier" way to GZ? ... yes but i didnt see it until after i found the cache. Definitely a 3 terrain. Thx all for the feedback.

Not trying to raise a stink but here's the situation. Recently I found a cache that is seriously under-rated (1.5/1.5). GZ is a 45 deg mountainside consisting of shifting surfaces, including rocks of all sizes. Two catchers have logged request to upgrade ratings. Would Groundspeak address this with the CO?

Is there a way to download the entire listing of caches, showing GC codes, name, etc .. as a PDF .. as a sortable spreadsheet? I realize the list of caches changes frequently. Thanks

I've taken GPS readings for a couple new hides. However when I enter the coordinates, the form says I am too close to other caches. I believe those caches have been archived. What now? Thanks.

What specifically are u asking? How to find, how to hide? This forum is great at helping, and reading the 'getting started' and 'how do i' posts are a good way to learn the basics.

This is the roadside area, by the way (not your typical roadside to wander, eh) The cache and i were by the fenceline when i was questioned.

How do you folks answer that question when caught in the act? I can usually "pull off" lurking around in public. But yesterday I was climbing a roadside in the middle of nowhere, when someone pulled up and asked.

Just go to the cache page, click the link that says "edit attributes," and de-select the beacon attribute. It took a bit of looking, but i found it ... Thanks for everyone's help

Newbie hider here ... how do i get tbe beacon removed? Can i adjust it myself or does GS need to do that? Thx again

I just hid my first cache GC6XMM1. On the "nearby cache" c:geo list, it says it is offline. Is this a problem? Do i need to do anything? Also, someone logged the FTF at 1pm MST yesterday, but the entry doesnt appear on c:geo. ?? Thanks all.

Newbie GPSr owner ... Garmin ETREX 10. Somehow i am missing a step. I created a bookmark list and know how to create a PQ from it. I have received the PQ lists in email. How do these lists of caches get on the Garmin? Sorry if i am being dense...

You're correct, this hobby includes all, but all caches aren't for everyone. I don't believe you need to look at the Difficulty rating, but Terrain. Difficulty is how hard it is to find/spot. Terrain tells you what it takes to get there to find/spot it
