  1. Yes sir, BUT only cause the stripper is on break LOL
  2. Might come for the camping....... I've got a new dog and he's a bit of a barker and gets overly excited. We have a camping trip planned for the Victoria long weekend and I'll get an idea what he's going to be like.
  3. Mega or not....... This will be our first event, not really sure what to expect. But the website looks well laidout and looks well organized so I'm sure it will be great.
  4. I'll be in the Niagra Falls area for the beginning of March Break (March 16th) and caching will be top of the list of things to do. It'll be myself, my 3 kids and our dog. You are more than welcome to join us.
  5. A very Merry Christmas to the Volunteers and to the entire Caching community!! May your day be blessed!! Cheers Coffee Peddlers
  6. The cache has been disabled, and I have tried to message the owner a couple times to inform him that the cache is missing and no response. I really enjoy the caches that require bushwacking and this one was very enjoyable since it wasn't a straight in bushwack. The end of the day I made it to the location regardless of a log book to prove it and really, its getting there that draws me to this hobby. And the trinkets inside is what draws in my kids. And this one I did solo (well the furry one was with me) so it was a win. And now I walk away with more knowledge than I came with. Thanks Everyone. Cheers
  7. OOPS, well now I will know for next time And thanks Tequila; I didn't think of that and that would work all the same. The point was to keep it from archiving more than change of ownership. SSSSHH, I think a Lock n Lock might fall out of my pocket next time I try for that cache
  8. I just placed a cache along a trail and at the other end is a cache that is not only missing but the owner hasn't logged in for over a year. What I would like to do is adopt the cache and place a new container (avoid it being archived) at the corrodinates. Its on a short trail (about a kilometer long) and this would make it so there was a cache at either end of the trail. Just wondering if it can be done and if so who would I contact to do it. Thanks
  9. Being a Noob, I have a different view of the stituation. I'm sure that some day once I get more experienced I will perhaps understand the way the Veterans of the community feel. First off this community comes across as intimidating and highly critical. I have 3 young children and the simple hints or give away hints to a small child can still be difficult. I suppose if this community doesn't want the next generation to get hooked becuase hints are too difficult or don't make sense due to either age or lack of experience than I am sadden. To my girls the main fun is rooting around inside the cache, and less on getting there. Now the do enjoy the search but mostly its "whats inside" is what the trophie is for them at the moment. So if the clue is too difficult and we can't find it, than they don't get their prize which is the cache itself. When I first started and still to this day, I like having the obvious hints....... I will hunt and hunt and if I just CANT find it than why would I want a hint that is just going to cause me to hunt and hunt and hunt more. I want something specific. I have come across some caches that were so easy that a blind person could have found it... ok that is a bit of an exaggeration but still what I take from those caches the journey getting there, either the hike or if it was a drive. Perhaps what the real problem is the rating system, if it has a high difficultly rating with a give away hint than perhaps the rating should be set to one star. THere for no one can complain when the hint is obvious. And in closing to those that are new to the outdoors..... a spruce is a pine tree, flame me if you will but I couldn't tell you a spruce from a pine to a fur. They all have needles and at the time of this posting I have alot of other things to learn about the outdoors and hiking than identifing coniferus trees. And yes I do see the irony of my post...... being critical about the community being critical... BUT hey I'm a nood and we get to do things like this Cheers and happy hunting
