  1. i just want a reliable babysitter for a hyper toddler so hubby & i can get back to geocaching! ...i've been suffering from withdrawl ever since he was born good thing he's so darn cute!
  2. i don't remember the name of the cache, but it was in the Dayton, OH area... we'd done a few that day & had seen some really pretty waterfalls... this area though, was in a small nature preserve-type area... seemed to be completely untouched by the human population... the woods were canopied with lush green leaves, and the ground was blanketed in ankle-height ferns... everything looked and smelled so GREEN... the logs were covered in green moss... there was a deer nearby... the air was cool under the trees, and not a sound to be heard but what little noise we produced... it was just so cool to be in such an Eden-like area so close to the city
  3. i went today to check on a cache i hid over 4 years ago... i haven't been out to check on it in a couple years-- nothing in any of the finders' posts led me to believe anything was wrong with it... well, today i discovered the path has been wiped out in a couple places by the river alongside it, causing the hiker to hop down a couple feet, then back up again, and in a couple other places it's near washed out as well... also, a few trees have fallen across the path-- not too bad in most places, but in one especially, unless you're able to climb up over 2 trees (which i could not) you have to take an alternate trail & then brushwhack back to the main path... all in all, it was still doable, since we did it, as have many others, but it's a lot more difficult than it was when originally placed... it's only a half mine round trip (as the crow flies) but it was a pretty good workout... right now it has a difficulty of 1.5 and a terrain of 3... should i raise the levels on this?... the cache page is http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...d8-30041c8006ce thanks!
  4. i'm a jewelry designer, so i often leave less expensive pieces of jewelry-- usually earrings & bracelets-- in the caches i visit, as well as the one i've hidden (which is into its 4th year-- unusually long time for a cache around here)
  5. that's exactly it-- the orange things ...i was thrown because of the ticket things too ...glad i'm not the only one not in the loop here...lol
  6. i was looking at geocaching stuff on ebay & ran across these orange things called Geopods... can anyone explain what these are used for?
