Date format when logging caches
S&G.Davison replied to Icarus.'s topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
To avoid being too negative about the date format being in an american style maybe we could request that it is consistent across the whole Geocaching web site and for the day and month to be viewed in a non ambiguous manner. To be fair microsoft doesn't help with the date formatting seemingly changing it on a whim if you are not very careful with the coding. Different formats are used throughout which makes it even more confusing. e.g. Wednesday, December 24, 2003 which they have for the TB release date. Then the logs for TBs are "American" whereas the logs for caches are Month Day (if the current year) then Month Day, Year if a previous year. Sticking to this latter format would be good. Sue -
Me too - my 2 golds are bronze and the bronze is the gold finish. Sue

Now that one is a nice looking variation. I'll have to preorder to help get to that stupidly high number I guessed at :-) Sue

I was going to say that thinking that as a devil of a contest 666 would be good but maybe too many. I'll stick with the 666 ..... If the pre-orders are running low maybe a heads up so I can preorder more to win Sue

Worked great for me too - all along ordering the coins I kept hoping it would be OK - and it was. Got me some of the pirates :-) Sue

Another update... This has taken so much longer than expected to get the colour of the paintwork correct. Thanks to Landsharkz for all the advice and help. There will be 4 versions (artwork and final samples). Versions 1 and 3 will be sold via Landsharkz and I will also have some of these available for trade. Versions 2 and 4 will be trade only. Version 1: 175 - Landsharkz will be selling these (option to mint more) Version 2: 50 - trade only for other XLE's Version 3: 125 - Landsharkz will be selling these Version 4: 10 - to be kept for special occasions We may mint more of version 1 if required, but versions 2, 3 and 4 will not be re-minted. We also reserve the right to mint additional variations should the need arise. Hopefully in about 4 weeks I'll be posting again to say they are ready.. As 2 of these will be available via Landsharkz I do not intend to take pre-orders - pricing to be determined. Many thanks Sue

Just ordered mine - now it's a sit and wait to see them. Sue

I think the Red Dragon got added in err rather than Red Fire Dragon right at the beginning. Rather than correct the listing the Red Fire were also added. It now it implies that both exist. I don't beleive the White Fire Dragons have been added yet. Sue

I think the G of the S&G is hoping for some decent weather in the UK so we do go out again for long days caching to stop the S spending money on coins. Meanwhile coins for the S are a great alternative . Sue
