  1. Yes, it will work quite fine, in fact many cachers use logical names like areas/regions/counties etc to manage their GPX files due to the 2000 cache limit. Now what was the second question? mm
  2. How does this possibly save battery? BTW my Oregon doesn't have "Big Letters" as an option (yet) mm
  3. I would think that it is appropriate on this day to visit the closest cache to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, being Why Tangi? We travelled through that area last year caching (before that cache was placed) and thoroughly enjoyed visiting this important place. It really should be a place that every person visits once to gain a better understanding of their history and culture. It is all about the location with this cache, rather than the cache container or journey. Thanks for the comp. mm
  4. Wow, so many photos that look just like her..... Ha Pee 30th Burf Day mm
  5. You will need to "edit my profile" using the menu selection on the right side....it will take you to this page ==> http://www.geocaching.com/my/details.aspx There is a dropdown selection for State, choose Queensland. Enjoy caching around Toowomba, and don't forget the Event coming up in a couple weeks in Toowoomba. mm
  6. Not much of a review in this thread if you keep shunting us off to your blog site instead. Please include some useful discussion here rather than sounding like a spambot who does't cache. mm
  7. Unless you use Buy it Now, Ebay is an auction site, and as such the "value" of the coin is dictated by the current bidders.....some days they go for heaps, the next day next to nothing. Past values for coins do not necessarily dictate future values. mm
  8. huh? There are more "real" differences, dependant on what you really need as a feature/benefit on your GPSr eg external antenna connection etc. A good comparison of features can be found here ==> http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Colorado+vs+Oregon If i was using the GPSr in the vehicle constantly, the touchscreen Oregon is much nicer to use. mm
  9. With the ability to just touch one of the two fields shown (when activated) and change it quickly, i guess they didn't feel that any more fields are required for what is a map page mm
  10. Where did you read that? I've used my Oregon for a Wherigo cache and it has been much better than using the PDA setup. Andrew
  11. Well with Christmas just hours away for us Ozstralites, it was nice to open the mail to see my coins have arrived. They are nice indeed, highly expectant of the Alaskan cachers now. Thanks and Merry Christmas. mm
  12. LOL, i had the willpower to hold off telling them. Some people just make something so simple, so hard..... mmm
  13. Hint misleading and not needed. All the information on the cache page is shown clearly for you to find GZ without trouble or using fancy calculators. mm
  14. Throw some snow in my parcel if you can find some room....would be nice to see some this time of the year. mm
  15. The only way to get seconds shown on the time is to go to the diagnostics page.... select the Satellite page, then hold the top left of the screen down until the (initially) non-backlit page pops up. The only issue with this page is that you will need to shut the GPSr off to get out of this page and return to normal. It's about the only way i know for geo-encoding the images with the tracklog accurately on the Oregon at this stage. (highly required in some cases) mm
  16. I can safely assume that my order just went through then. mm Yup...though if you'd really bought it at 11:15 AM Monday, you'd have been a day late (noting the forum time quantum shift between Alaska and Australia which is five hours earlier, tomorrow ) want to know the lotto numbers. Thanks for the coins....and no thanks to the guys who set the exchange rate. mm
  17. I can safely assume that my order just went through then. mm
  18. http://www.geocaching.com/track/geocoinslistall.aspx would have to be fairly close to that, would it not?? mm
  19. GDA94 is a DATUM, not a coordinate format as such (you would probably be using UTM as the coordinate format). Search for this information for further details.....this link will be a good start ==> http://www.ga.gov.au/geodesy/datums/aboutdatums.jsp If the company is requesting GDA94, it may be due to them having the GDA94 compliant logo on the map legend. GDA94 is near enough to WGS84 for ALL consumer related purposes. (less than 1m) If designing a paper map, then the thickness of a line is around 12.5m (ground distance) on a 1:25000 scaled map, so any small errors are going to be eaten up. Almost all modern handheld GPSr's should have GDA94 listed as a datum. For information on this compliance, check this link ==> http://www.icsm.gov.au/icsm/gda/logo.html BTW, GDA94 is an Australian Datum, used by virtually all Australian Government Departments, large businesses etc. mm
  20. You saying we aren't fun now? Maybe the perceived amount of theft in America puts some cachers off these "races". mm
