  1. Its like any community in life there are those who always think that they are more important and look down on those who they feel are below them because they don't have the right equipment or that they haven't scored enough, I am a photographer I once made the mistake of joining a photographic club, I was decended on by 5 over inflated egos who started to quiz me about what equipment I had, if I used a monopods, I was told i needed this lens and that lens and have I won any comps, was a member of any official organisation. I stayed to see judging of some very bad landscapes and watched the self petchulating back slapping before heading for the door as fast as possible with the words, you have the wrong tripod ringing in my ears. Live and let live, you will get people who think they are the be all and end all of caching, like you I find this sport fits in with my photography, both I enjoy on my own. Ignore the ego's they will inflate and burst one day
  2. I have had my 60c for 8 weeks its been back to Garmin for an interface problem, then they sent me a new unbit with the US mapping and not the Europe, so I complained today they deleiverd my replacement a brand new 60CSx at no extra change for in the inconvenience. Thanks Garmin

  4. If you make it Premium Members only then you will be discrimanating against new members, people who cannot afford the fees and those who choose not to be premium members. And your point is? new members can become premium members as soon as they find out they like it. "those who choose not to be premium members" I don't mind discrimimating against. if you really can't afford 3 bucks a month, let me know and I'll help you out. I thought this sport was for everyone? not just for those that choose to become premium members, that is defeating the spirit of Geocaching. I am lucky enough I can afford to become a premium member, also afford a good GPS and all that goes with it. but at the moment I am choosing not to become a premium member I get all I need from being a 'normal' member at the moment. Why should I be penalised for the actions of a few. This is how divides are started, its easier to move or cancel the cache then split a community.

I have not yet decided whether to become a premium member yet, so because of that I wouldn't be allowed to join in. Like everything in life you always have a bad apple, I am a freelance photographer when I cover events, you have the other togs that think they have the God given right to get in your shot just because they have been at it longer or they have better lenses. They are the ones that get the bad rep. Life never plays fair, just have a quick moan, then get on with life. Take care Parageiss
  6. I posted yesterday about a cache I placed wasn't even there 24 hours before it went.
  7. It gets better My GPS has gone down won't commnicate with the puter, its going back to Garmin, 10 days without a GPS, my life is empty at least I can laugh, well smile, well sulk, well at least I have a bottle of wine, you watch me drop it between the kitchen and living room!!!
  8. I placed 3 caches yesterday, one I placed in a way for disabled access, to make it easy, but also out of site, I went to check it as I was in the area and guess what?? yes you guessed it, it was missing, no where in the area I had a good look. They must of come across it by chance but it was well hidden unless you know what you are looking for, basically in the middle of no where Oh well I guess I won't be going there again.
  9. With my name Para mean out the normal, and Geis is a old Celtic Warrior word meaning bond of friendship never broken even in death. and the extra S is because I like it
