I didn't log my cache as a find. Since I already know where it is I didn't find it. I did log my first DNF today.

I used a 310 for 6 of my 7 finds. It doesn't go to the 3rd decimal point but it got me close enough. Then I just did what was suggested above and looked around for where I would hide it. I decided since I wanted do this I upgraded to a SporTrack and had one find and one DNF today. DNF

I left a wheresgeorge dollar in a cache I found. My hope is someone will find it and log it at Wheresgeorge

I bought a Magellan 310 for personal use until I found out about geocaching. I found my first 5 caches using it with no problem After not being able to find a micro with the 310 I bought a Magellan SporTack. So far, it looks like it will meet my needs SporTrak

I got a new in a sealed box Magellan SporTrak off eBay the other day for about 25% less than retail including shipping. It arrived today, three days after I won it. For me it was a good deal and the shipping time was excellent.

If it's to the point where your cache is overflowing and you can't seal it properly, why not take the overflow and make a new cache?

USB also has a faster transfer rate then a serial port.

I take mine just to make sure that the coords. are as close as I can get them.

Small hijack. Since I'm new at this, is it normal for the folks who find it not to put it back the waythey found it? I have placed my first one and went to check it today and found it way out in the open, not hidden at all like the way I left it. So I had to put it back the way I originally hid it.

What's the big deal about being a FTF? The fun is in the hunt regardless of who got there first, second or never. IMHO.

I print out the page w/o the logs but since I'm a newbie I do use the hints when I need to. So far, I've found my GPS gets me close and all I have to do is look around and think where I would hide one.

I usually cache alone. I got my son a GPS for his birthday so he's gone out with me twice.
