  1. Bought my SporTrack in January 2004. Small crack near the screw to the left of the keypad.
  2. CC Cooper (surprise! lol!) went to find my latest cache and it was gone. It was a micro in a park near where I live and someone dumped the log paper and pencils out and took the tin. Cape Horn Micro She took some pictures and was nice enough to send them to me. Now I have to go check on my other caches to see if they're still there. Crud!
  3. This is a TB that I ordered from GS and has never been recorded. I'll be placing it for the first time in one of the caches I own. Thanks.
  4. I have four caches in my area. Two are ammo cans and two are micros. Would it be ok for me to drop a travel bug into one of my own caches and edit that cache site stating that I have added one?

    Hooked

And start meeting other geocachers in your area. I'm already looking at a 2nd GPs
  6. Actually, they were sharpies. But my handwriting is so bad I can take a sharpie and make it look like I used one of those big fat markers.
  7. No finds but I did hide a micro today that is awaiting approval.
  8. That's good to know. I'll add some more adhesive to them. Thanks.
  9. I just ordered 2 for my traditional caches. (ammo cans) I just used a magic maker to write on them but it doesn't look good. I have seen a couple on the caches I've found.
  10. GEOCACHER'S FEATURES! I use an identical unit for geocaching and found that the sport track map holds a fix under trees better than my old garmin unit, also it is WAAS compliant giving you a more accurate position. I have had no problems using FREE software from the geocaching webpage to automatically store cache coordinates in the built in memory. Unit also has a rudimentary compass feature incase yours is lost or broken while out on a hunt. If you are a registered geocacher in the lower 48 states, I will ship free!
  11. I'm 47. My GF who is also my cache partner is 51.
  12. I have one FTF out of my 11 finds. Percentage wise that's pretty good.
  13. I put sharpened pencils, more than one except in the micro which has a broken down pencil, in my caches and carry a pen/pencil with me when searching for caches.
  14. My GF goes with me on some caches other times she'd rather just sit in the car and wait. We both have cell phones and use these radios
  15. I've used NiHi batteries in my digital cameras for a couple of years. I now use them for my GPSr. They work good for me. I do, however, use trickle chargers. It takes longer but the batteries hold the charge awhile longer.
  16. I used the driver that came with the cable. Thanks for the link. That page has the manual on it.
  17. Didn't work for me. I tried in on my PC and laptop and EasyGPS didn't see it as a serial port.
  18. I started with a Magellan 310. Sold it and bought a SporTrak. Works fine for me.
  19. I hid a micro in a graveyard because a traditional just wouldn't do. Not many places to hide a ammo can in a graveyard.
