  1. We were actually at the Contact Cache last night to retrieve our cache (sounds funny huh?). The place was amazing clean compared to last time we were there. The trails were all overgrown with fresh spring greens. Alas, there were some new "No Trespassing" signs posted that we didn't notice before. It's unfortunate that you'll have to be moving it, but hopefully you'll find somewhere new for it to go. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything

  3. We grabbed one of those ammo cans. We actually went there for some shoes and hiking stuff and they were just on an end-cap for $3.88. They're pretty big ones too. Now to just find a place to put it. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  4. "Above the Clouds" will take an entire day to do and you'll probably want to camp out the night before/after you hike. We attempted this one last year in August and we're going to attempt it again this August. Hopefully we'll pick a nicer weekend to go. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  5. Oh, dang it, we don't have our membership yet. We just moved out to Beaverton and don't have any spare cash as of right now. Hopefully we can sign up for the membership during summer. The membership only status of your cache may be another reason why it has yet to be found. Just a theory though. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  6. LOL, yeah, I forgot the link. Thanks for picking that up fractal. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  7. Well, like stated before, we were finally able to place our second cache at the beach. The hike to it is hard, but worth it. This is our starting point for Alice the travel bunny. She's looking to take a trip around the states and particularly, the Florida Keys. Equipped with a camera, she's all ready to record her favorite places. Hope some of you have the time to give this a try. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=21387 I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything [This message was edited by White Rabbit on May 02, 2002 at 10:59 AM.]
  8. I used to go fishing in that canal and below the powerhouse every summer. I couldn't believe when I saw the pictures of that. The dozens and dozens of times I've been up there, I never imagined that would happen! Luckily there was nobody underneath the breach (at least not that they know of). There's still an alternate route around the breach, but it's a good 80 mile detour. They also said they would have a temporary road built by the end of this week. That really screwed up my companies powerhouse and substation too. It'll be awhile before they fix that all up. That camp you were talking about was most likely "Beaver Bay" which is a pretty nice place (real big). There's a better camp a little farther towards Cougar called "Cougar Tent Camp" (try to get site #26 I think, out away from everyone and on the bank of the river). We also like staying at "Swift Lake camp", but that's a ways out of the way with no gas stations nearby. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  9. Couldn't read ALL of the posts, but I got the jist of it (what does auditing your cache allow you to do anyways?). My girlfriend and I don't bring in a whole lot of money. One day we'll probably spring for the membership, but for now, we can't do it. It really upsets us that caches we've found in the past have since become MOC. We can't read the adventures that other people had, we can't go back and check what we took or left at that cache, we can't see if anyone had the same fun/adventure/problems that we had, and all that stuff kind of makes us upset. I know it's not a big deal, but it just bothers us. I think that you should still be able to view a MOC if you've already found it. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  10. Interesting. You got pretty lucky on that one. Personally I think if your speed was an average of 35mph, you could do that many ways. If you're going 42mph for 4 minutes, and 28mph for 4 minutes, your GPS would average that out at around 35mph. Though the GPS doesn't know that when you actually got radared you WERE going 42mph. Just because your average speed was less than 42mph, doesn't mean that at the time you were radared you weren't going 42mph. So I think you got off lucky and I wouldn't rely on this happening again. You can correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't know exactly how your GPS tracks stuff. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything

That was my first cache too. It was a great one! I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  12. We don't use anything real fancy, just the "Energizer e2 Titanium" AA batteries. They say they have the 1.5v and they work well for a long time. Realatively cheap too I guess. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  13. This is you too Explosis: BTW: We got our window decal (Geocaching logo) at the Low-Medium-High Cache (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=4835), I don't know if there's any left though(it's on the driver side rear window of our burgandy Mercedes). 17. I didn't mean to cause any problems or anything. They just asked how we felt about them and the anti-music-exchange people got all testy and protective. I was just trying to calm them down by rationalizing it to them, but like usual, people like them don't like to listen. It's great how sheep will all flock together and listen to whatever the almighty U.S. government has to say and then repeat that as if it were the Holy Bible. Anyways, I don't want to start anything in this forum either. So please, if you don't like some stuff you find in a cache, just leave it alone, nobody's asking you to take it or even touch it, but other people may enjoy the music cd they just found. Thank you, and thanks for leaving the "G" to us. I think we may actually get it up this weekend, but it could be next. Depends on how much gas money we've got. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  18. The word of mouth is a good idea, but once the media gets ahold of something, they're not going to let it go. I'm sure a lot of the newsstations/newspapers/magazines that ran a story on the sport are keeping an eye on what's going on for possible follow ups. There's no stopping the media. p.s. Does anyone else's computer bring them back to the main forum page when they hit 'reply'? I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything

We're working out the details on it (ammo box, deciding if there should be a puzzle) and we're waiting for a travel bug so we can send Alice the Photo taking White Rabbit out on her adventure. If you can refrain, please don't place one up there, we'd really appreciate it. p.s. as of now, we're just going to leave our Pirate's Adventure cache out there. We'll try to go out either this weekend or next and change the items in the cache so as not to upset anybody I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything [This message was edited by White Rabbit on April 11, 2002 at 03:22 PM.]

  21. That does sound like fun, but there's only two of us, so one of us would have to stay sober to drive. We don't go out after drinking any more because there aren't any within walking distance from us really. Geopubbing....that's funny. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  22. Hopefully you'll have a good time out there. Thanks to a little topic in the general forum, I may have to remove this cache. Well, at least until I can afford to buy some real (overpriced) cd's that I enjoy that I think other may also enjoy. Well, I don't know, I guess I could just leave it there and have people take an item and leave an item. Sooner or later the items that people are making such a big whiney deal over will be gone. What do you guys think? Anyways, yeah, Garibaldi is a cute little town. We like Rockaway a lot too. These places aren't the super tourist attractions like Seaside or Cannon Beach, but heck, they've got a beautiful beach in Rockaway that you can actually walk about 2-3 miles along and reach the cache if you want. We love how the beaches aren't all crowded and stuff. They're such cute little coastal towns. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything
  23. quote:Originally posted by Pote: I find it interesting that they place a cache and spell out in highlighted text exactly what the finder should and shouldn't do. I find it interesting that they should expect others to abide by their rules and desires, but they won't abide by those of others. After all, since when is it up to the rabbit king to tell me how I choose to handle the things that I find hidden in public? Well, if you knew anything about music, you'd just know that the whole 'Rabbit King' is just refering to Jim Morrison ("I am the Lizard King, I can do anything"--stated at end of 'Run With Me'). That doesn't mean that I think I'm above the law or anything, it's just a saying I use because I like Morrison. I replaced Lizard King with Rabbit King because I also like Floater and they have a song called The Rabbit King (aka King Rabbit). As for my cache, hell, you can do what you want with it. If you can tell, 3 of the first 4 steps that we included were warning for peoples safety (by all means, you don't have to listen to those, feel free to ignore the main rule and run around on the slippery rocks if you want). Since the cache was a little different than a lot of caches, we decided to make it in steps. I've seen many pirate maps that include directions you have to follow before you can reach the actual treasure itself (have an imagination would you?). As for the music stuff again. I'm going to point out the fact that these are NOT copied CD's. They are a compilation of a select number of tracks on off of different albums. I think that Zeppelin would be happy to hear that someone else might of picked up a compilation album of thiers, really enjoyed their music and possibly went out to buy it. There's plenty of artists now and back then who support sharing music because they now that it's just a way to get thier music and names out among the masses. Hell, let's say that I was walking through the mall and someone gave me a pretzel that they got on a buy 1 get one free deal over at The Pretzel Factory. Let's say I really liked that pretzel. Now I'm going to remember about that place and probably stop by there next time I'm at the mall and get me a pretzel. It's free advertising basically. I never burn any 'actual cds' (song for song, the entire album). I just pick some songs that I think show the artists many capabilities and place them on a sampler disc for others to listen to.
