  1. You asked for this. Clearly the 50% of the non Chester City supporters are the parts of the body that contain the brain while the rest of the body that supports Chester is clearly a different part of the body!! Must confess I used to visit Sealand Road in the 1960s. Highlight ws a friendly game against Manchester United. Peter
  2. Including the approximate location in the name is a great idea. It is particularly useful when tracking the location of a TB. Peter
  3. We are traveling that day but would be interested in a follow up event. We live in Shropshire so would prefer summer when roads are better. Why not start an informal distribution list? Peter
  4. You have certainly been busy including some repeat visits for the places you really enjoyed. Remember Maelor Way in April? Jacqueline and Peter
  5. Encrypted clues to be a minimum of 20 words most of which are along the lines of" The recommended parkng for ths cache is located by the Old Nags Head pub. The cache that you are seeking is to be found under the log near to the old tree". This clue is only to be used in woods with lots of trees and logs. If you are in a location with loads of rocs (like a quarry) then the clue is to be " The cache that you are seeking is hidden in the quarry and can be found under the rock". Peter
  6. Belgium has quite a few caches which are visited when people are passing through the country. Why do they pass through? Because they wish to go to NL, Lux, Germany, France etc :-) I am grateful for the \Belgian caches. Peter
  7. So what is the conclusion do we use the dog icon if there are styles which do not have lift gates or gaps for dogs? We take our son's dog for walks and she would have no trouble with a stile but I a seeking guidanc from a majority of dog owners. Peter
  8. Many of the UK cachers include most of the information suggested for the icons in the text of their cache description - for which we thank you! Peter
  9. Major benefit for me is the under 1 hour icon which is very helpful when planning n dong a multi with an unkown distance! Not sure how many of the other icons I will refer to but more information is better than less. I share the query on the carpark though - how close is close? I notice that many UK caches give the coords of the car park which is even more useful. Peter
  10. I really appreciated your off topic note / reminder! Now we just have to hope we see something. Peter
  11. Know someone who wishes to buy a gps an will probably go for basic etrex - initial research shows that your suggested price is good - you should aso consider offering the various cables which are a vrtual necessity. Peter
  12. Dolly Girl - stumbled across your logs a few times and frequently nearly meet your dad. Well done on the ONE HUNDRED! Peter
  13. We were caching on 12 Jan around midday in Stafford area and after switching the device off it then took ages and ages to 'find' a set of sats. Thanks for the explanation. By the way does the level of the batteries make any difference to the operaton of the GPS or does it continue as usual until there is insuffiecient power and then close down? Peter
  14. Another aspect is to include contact details so that someone can contact you if there is an issue with a cache. A general reference to the web site is not sufficient! Peter
  15. Well done Leonness. Pleased that you chose Craven Arms (which is a pub, but also a small town) to record the milestone. Peter
  16. Just had a quick look and appreciate the effort - which I know is quite a lot. I am now getting lots of geocaching site 'favourtes' on my browser, all of which help me to while away my time and then wonder where all the time has gone! Peter
  17. Very interested in an event - mind you we are short distance walkers and consider 7 miles a LONG walk. However there have been occasions when we have walked further, especially if we do a few caches and don't realise just how far it was! Peter
  18. The more caching sites I find, the more I realise that somebody out there is watching me! Peter
  19. Even though we know we are caching and you know we are caching the chances are that passers by just pass by! Peter
  20. What are the coords of the baccy cash cache? Peter
  21. Greetings from Shropshire and congratulations on 200. Not along your thread was about how to get motivated to cache - guess you have found a new approach. Peter
  22. John - we have yet to meet and for me to shake the hand of a 400errrrrrrrr. Well done Peter
  23. I export the file from GSAK and load into autoroute. By changing pin format you can have the URL of the cache linked to the symbol. Just doube click the pin and if you are online up comes the web page. In theory you can also have an offline link to a set of stored GSAK exported HTML files. I can't get this to work correct;y though! Peter
