  1. Leprechauns I was very sorry to hear about you getting bitten by a dog when riding past the lighthouse. And yet in spite of this you did not deny the entry for that reason. I recently got stung by nettles and cut by brambles but did not deny the logging of a cache. Together we can make the world a better place. Peter "The current thread would make sense if I had denied the waymark because I thought the Charlotte lighthouse was too ugly, or I didn't like it because one time I got bit by a dog when riding my bike past it. But the fact is, I denied it because it didn't fit the category parameters."
  2. I agree with Alibags - the idea (for me at least) is to keep the TBs moving, albeit sometimes they appear to go in the 'wrong' direction. Having said that I am a believer in the randomness nature of TB movement. If a TB is trying to get to an airport it is not necessarily helpful to move it closer to LHR. A cacher who is about to go abroad could be caching anywhere in the country. Peter
  3. Well done - let's be seeing you back in Shropshire again. Peter
  4. Searching for a new GPS a local user was wondering if there is a GPS that supports mapping which goes down to footpath detail. Any ideas? Peter
  5. I cannot help but reflect on the trials and tribulations of everyone on the south coast - New Orleans. What can we do as a community to help? Peter
  6. Well done Nette for putting up with Dave! Hopefully we'll see you this weekend at the Shropshire meet. However looks as though there will be that many cachers it will be hard. Peter
  7. Weary Banker & Bookworm - Congratulations on reaching your 200 Peter
  8. Welcome to the exclusive club! Must sort out my aviator thiny whatsit! Peter
  9. I too enjoy virtuals and regard them as virtually the same as caches - no plastic box but a definite search, exploration of somewhere I would not otherwise have visited and a sense of accomplishment. Peter
  10. Bumped into your logs a number of times! Well dne to your dog for putting up with you!! Peter
  11. I know someone who got banned for leaving (what was considered by the powers that be) material which was commercial / advertising items. These were freebie computer CDs. Peter
  12. Now for the good news - ope I ave spilled this correctly. The Secret Hills are helping to promote geocaching to the members of the public who have yet to get fully engaged with geocaching. As a result of this activity we already have recruited some new cachers and there is potential for a steady stream of recruits. THANK YOU SECRET HILLS and WELCOME. Peter
  13. Worked a treat for me = thanks. I did forget to tick the 'update existing only' first time but no problems after restoring. Have you informed Clyde of this great facility? Jacqueline and Peter
  14. Absolutely brilliant. You really captured the fun and hard slog - together with a few accidents. The video brought back our memories of the series so THANKS. Jacqueline and Peter
  15. Bek and Ian Well done on the 500. We notice that we are tied on the UK stats. Peter and Jacqueline Wigglesworth
  16. Stu and Sarah We really appreciate the work you put into the video. It madefor great entertainment!! Peter
  17. Like many others if we are driving relatively far we wish to ensure success and so have a few caches printed. We DO DO multi's but would request that owners give a fair indication of expected time for completion. Peter
  18. I would welcome suggestions to correct the spelling and grammar on my cache descriptions. However I feel that logs are frequently 'dashed' out and we should tolerate errors. Peter
  19. Jacqueline, Peter and possibly a hanger on are planning to attend. Want to meet those pesky Percey Boys ;-)
  20. Thanks for the Audacity link. Now I can record some of the radio comedy programmes and listen to the off line. Peter
  21. Congratulations from a couple who have completed some of your caches and received some help from you too. We also met but did not speak! Jacqueline and Peter
  22. Congratulations from a couple who have completed some of your caches and received some help from you too. Jacqueline and Peter
  23. We have scheduled a trip to Blackpool area for the middle of next week and had noticed that some of the caches had been archived. A little disappointed but appreciate the amount of work to actively maintain caches! Now we will have to chaeck if any more of our planned caches have been archived! Peter
  24. I have a nephew who was stationed in Iraq - it just goes to show how the invasion has directly touched so many UK people. He is due to return later this year :-( Peter
