Leprechauns I was very sorry to hear about you getting bitten by a dog when riding past the lighthouse. And yet in spite of this you did not deny the entry for that reason. I recently got stung by nettles and cut by brambles but did not deny the logging of a cache. Together we can make the world a better place. Peter "The current thread would make sense if I had denied the waymark because I thought the Charlotte lighthouse was too ugly, or I didn't like it because one time I got bit by a dog when riding my bike past it. But the fact is, I denied it because it didn't fit the category parameters." -
I agree with Alibags - the idea (for me at least) is to keep the TBs moving, albeit sometimes they appear to go in the 'wrong' direction. Having said that I am a believer in the randomness nature of TB movement. If a TB is trying to get to an airport it is not necessarily helpful to move it closer to LHR. A cacher who is about to go abroad could be caching anywhere in the country. Peter

Searching for a new GPS a local user was wondering if there is a GPS that supports mapping which goes down to footpath detail. Any ideas? Peter

I cannot help but reflect on the trials and tribulations of everyone on the south coast - New Orleans. What can we do as a community to help? Peter -

Why Do They Have To Leave?
wigglesworth replied to Barthonis's topic in Getting Started with Waymarking (Read-Only)
I too enjoy virtuals and regard them as virtually the same as caches - no plastic box but a definite search, exploration of somewhere I would not otherwise have visited and a sense of accomplishment. Peter -
Bumped into your logs a number of times! Well dne to your dog for putting up with you!! Peter

I know someone who got banned for leaving (what was considered by the powers that be) material which was commercial / advertising items. These were freebie computer CDs. Peter

Now for the good news - ope I ave spilled this correctly. The Secret Hills are helping to promote geocaching to the members of the public who have yet to get fully engaged with geocaching. As a result of this activity we already have recruited some new cachers and there is potential for a steady stream of recruits. THANK YOU SECRET HILLS and WELCOME. Peter

Worked a treat for me = thanks. I did forget to tick the 'update existing only' first time but no problems after restoring. Have you informed Clyde of this great facility? Jacqueline and Peter

Hypocrisy In Caching... Surely Not
wigglesworth replied to Pharisee's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Like many others if we are driving relatively far we wish to ensure success and so have a few caches printed. We DO DO multi's but would request that owners give a fair indication of expected time for completion. Peter -
I would welcome suggestions to correct the spelling and grammar on my cache descriptions. However I feel that logs are frequently 'dashed' out and we should tolerate errors. Peter

We have scheduled a trip to Blackpool area for the middle of next week and had noticed that some of the caches had been archived. A little disappointed but appreciate the amount of work to actively maintain caches! Now we will have to chaeck if any more of our planned caches have been archived! Peter

I have a nephew who was stationed in Iraq - it just goes to show how the invasion has directly touched so many UK people. He is due to return later this year :-( Peter
