  1. What are "the Pines" (besides a type of tree)? Does that refer to some locality of the Northeast or other area just outside of the NJ stateline? As for the thread, I think anyone is welcome as long as the topics are friendly and related to the NJ and surrounding areas.
  2. Bring on the sub-optimal low tide-adventure! I don't want the geocaching community thinking I wimped out on this one. Rubber gloves....$2 100% DEET........$4 Hip waders.........$30 Anything else to bring to ensure the adventure is "Priceless?" Trowel32...by rubber gloves, do you mean the kitchen/cleaning type or the lab/medical office type?
  3. 6:30 is probably better, but I may damage my bedroom wall when I hear my alarm go off so early on a weekend! Okay, so 6:30 am at the starting parking coordinates on Sunday September 11th! Here we come, Melvin!
  4. This sunday, Sept 11th, low tide is at 7:25 AM, so a 7 AM start would be ideal....
  5. I would love to tackle this cache as part of a group. I don't have a kayak, but I am free this saturday or sunday.
  6. 1000....Wow! That's a lot of tupperwear to find!
  7. Perhaps this is taking the icon thing too far! I thought the page was still loading and then I realized all the pertinent information was off the screen on the right. Does anyone have any advice about the best time of year to find Melvin's Multiple Madness cache (needed for Magoo Merit cache)? As much as I'm looking forward to climbing through mud for a day, I was wondering if it is better to attempt this one in summer or winter? Thanks and hope all enjoy the long weekend
  8. While caching last night in Kingston, I grabbed three caches in a row (Cook Stream, Kingston Cache #2, and Cipher Cache Alpha) that were all removed from their hiding spot and exposed to view. Strange coincidence? Thoughts?
  9. Yeah, I feel your pain on the gas prices...this morning I filled up my Accord for 40 bucks! OUCH!
  10. Okay, so everyone has a difficult zone to clear out, point acknowledged...but, it doesn't make me any happier when I look at my closest 20 unfound page. I need a geocaching fairy godmother to make all of the solutions to these mystery caches just pop into my head! ...and as an update, there are now 9 hard puzzles within 8 miles of my home I have left to find. Stop the pain...
  11. I feel the sympathy over the duress you're causing me oozing out of your GPS. Yeah, so if anyone wants to work on the non-earth caches (the moon and venus puzzles), let me know.
  12. I recaaaaaall.....Central Park in faaaaaall. How you tore your dress. What a mess... I confess. Hey! How ya doing! Try the veal.
  13. Awesome...hope the next 500 are even more enjoyable!
  14. As I am finally starting to make a dent on the caches in my home area, I realized that of my 20 closest unfound caches, 8 of them are hard puzzles! I am doomed! I need to move somewhere else to be able to clean out a 10 mile radius zone. Perhaps I need a new goal, like clean out a 1 mile zone...no wait...one of those puzzles is 0.2 miles from my home, great.
  15. We will talk about the icon at the next get together. Just so everyone knows, the coins are being minted as we speak. They should arrive in a few weeks. Almost there... Mike Is the next get together planned? I know this is a camping event, but seeing as I do not have a tent or sleeping bag, I won't be there. Or are you refering to another event that I missed or is yet to be planned? Thanks for the update Jersey Trex.
  16. I ordered two....and would be willing to throw in a few bucks towards a unique icon too...anyone up for designing an icon? Anyone else up for contributing towards the $150 necc?
  17. I recommend trying NB44's new puzzle cache Go Figure. Another excellent addition to the NB44 collection!
  18. I think there should be a new psuedo virtual icon created for sightings of geocaches on tv!!! May 8 - Geocaching featured on Law & Order: Criminal Intent Geocaching is on the (fictional) police blotter next week! Set your VCRs or DVRs to record the May 8 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The upcoming episode "The Unblinking Eye" reveals the plot "A young actor is wounded and his fiancée killed, leading detectives to look into a high-tech treasure-hunting game called geocaching." Happy Hunting.

I like this travel bug story....and the entry from 9/18/04. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=60460
  21. I'm gonna give it a whirl when this one goes live, but I'm sure I'll be about 50th to find by the time I get through the puzzle and actually find the caches. I have a hard enough time getting NB44's caches when he just gives me the coords!
  22. On phone with TT now, please see his message I am transcribing below: Thank you all for your warmest wishes on a speedy recovery, I hope to be back at full speed soon. Just took a spill off of a rock formation, landing on another rock below, and breaking my left elbow into 15, not 17, pieces. The cache (I thnk it was called PJ's rainforest cache) was a simple 1.5/1.5 off State route 74 between lake Elsinore and Perris. If you drive along this road and see a giant green spray painted rock, that's the one that got me! Dynamite will be imported and used at a later date. Looks like I will be discharged tomorrow from Inland Valley Hosp. and the manager has transferred me to the 60 day DL. Some young minor leaguers from AAA Tucson will be called up to take my place. BTW, yes, I did get the cache before the spill (and obviously have not logged it yet or Project Delta or Elsinore Outlet Cache that I had also grabbed earlier that day). Thank you all again for your concern and well wishes and I will see you out on the trail real soon. TT PS, not even this elbow will keep me away from beer...I have another arm to raise a pint with, see you Sunday!
