  1. MMM: My advice.... BRING A MAP OF THE AREA. Make sure you consider your first approach. We were not smart about this and added 45 minutes on our journey. Wear shoes that stay on your feet and fit TIGHTLY. This is critical so when your feet sink in the mud, your shoes come out with your feet. Two boards about 2 feet long are helpful....you can use them for the many crossings that are too far to leap across. One set for the whole group will suffice. Bring strong guys with you that can drag you out of the mud when you get stuck. Wear yucky underwear....I had mud on everything I was wearing by the end of the day. Travel light. It's pretty physically taxing, so pack smart and share. Also, everything you bring will be filthy at the end anyway. The mud stinks...like rotten egg stinky. I didn't feel like eating anything due to the gross smell. But water is important....bring water! You have to drive to during the journey between waypoints, so bring plastic to cover your car seats. Bring your camera in a dry bag...too many great times not to capture on film! FOR AFTER THE JOURNEY: Have an entire set of clean clothes, shoes, and socks in the car. Let us know how it goes! I can't wait to hear about your adventure!
  2. I am looking for new and preferably unactivated GCs of the following: Iowa Tennessee Ohio Have to trade either a new and unactivated MD or EU GCs. Thanks, LR
  3. I am looking for either a Pennslyvania, Colorado, or Tennessee Geocoin. I have to trade either a 2004 Washington or unactivated EU geocoin.
  4. Totally agree on the consolidated geocoin icon...it was nearly impossible to read the pages.
  5. I was logging a find this evening and several of my geocoin icons had changed...including NJ and Germany....way cool!
  6. I'm sure glad that we didn't plan to do Melvin's MM after all of this rain...I can't imagine what it must be like out there!
  7. NJ has 56 pages of maps in DeLormes. I would imagine there are a few cachers that are either very close or have achieved all 56.
  8. Looking to trade unactivated MD geocoin for any unactivated of the following: Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, or Tennessee Thanks.
  9. Ah...posting as me now. Congratulations T32! You are a caching machine...no terrain, puzzle, or obstacle slows you down!
  10. Double congrats! Congrats Squared!
  11. Mine were waiting for me in my mailbox today!!! Yee Haw!
  12. I haven't gotten my NJ coins yet! I'll have to think of some NJ names to honor...how about the Boss or Bon Jovi? Former Gov McGreevey? Hehe... just being silly. However, as a NJ transplant, my prominent NJ citizen knowledge is more than deficient. I'll check back on this thread for suggestions. I think the NJ TP reststops are named after famous New Jersans....hmm...maybe I could use rest stop "Walt Whitman" or "Clara Barton"! I did a virtual cache in Edison about Thomas Edison...guess he would fit this theme too.
  13. I have a "joy of geocaching" coin ( #894) and a "the green man" geocoin (#431, 2002 inaugural geocoin, with certificate) up for trades....will trade both for any one state geocoin except NJ, NY, or MD (activated or not).
  14. No undies being ironed over here...TT can press his own drawers!!
  15. Hope the surgery goes well and your recovery is quick and painless! Take care and I am wishing you the best.
  16. Wow...completed Melvin's this morning with karrooite and TT. Intense, dirty adventure that the guys pulled me through at some points. I almost gave up en route to Stage 1 and was swearing Magoos name for making this part of his Merit cache...but alas, it was worth it in the end. I think I could sell the final coords on Ebay (jk).
  17. While in Efingers yesterday, there were 5 guys in there getting bow and arrow hunting permits...I'm sure they are out in full force today!
  18. Fine...to get back on topic. What's the deal for going after Melvin? Anyone firmed up times, places of meeting yet? --TT--
  19. NO, Get your own thread! Cute...(changing the font color).... Frodo, Thanks for the "Pines" geography lesson. I'll have to get down there to see first hand soon! Since I live in Somerset County, I don't truly feel that a northern or southern NJ board suits me since I like to geocache in both communities. Also, the only northern NJ board (NNJGPS) I could find was essentially inactive....so here I am, bothering everyone in the "New Jersey Thread". What do other central jersey folk do? What's the reason for the big division between Northern and Southern Jersey? Jersey is a small state when compared to most of the rest of the US states (only Delaware, Rhode Island, and Connecticut are smaller).
