  1. me too. maps come up fine, but no pointer.
  2. Update: Got it at 8:34 pm. First time importing from email and I like that process.
  3. Funny thing about that. I recently switchced to gmail as I thoought it might be comcast. btw, still waiting.
  4. I've read about this many times before and I apologize for bringing it up again, but I don't understand how pocket queries are sent out. A few days ago, i checked the box and got a pq in a few minutes. yesterday morning, i checked the box again and got nothing. over the day i checked the boxes for everyday, checked and unchecked them, then waited overnight. still nothing. is the system that erratic or is it something i'm doing wrong?
  5. I have my days where I just can't seem to find caches. So when I get home I put that cache on my watchlist. Then I can keep an eye on it and see if it was me (it almost always is) or not. But, 've had a few cases where it was not me, like the one I'm concerned with now. No one has found stage one since 9/6/06. I could email the cache owner or post a maintenance or just ignore it but what I do could save someone else a wasted trip. Is there an official policy for what should happen next?
  6. I was once dtstrout, my initials and "trout" for the fish I once fished for. I found myself fishing little and geocaching a lot, so I decided to change. I thought it would be a good idea to pick some animal that I saw and could relate to. Within a week, during 2 fishing jaunts and surprisingly 3 consecutive caches, I came upon great blue herons. Hence, G.B.Heron.
  7. I have a Legend C and use it all the time. I noticed that as my city grows there are many roads that are not on the basemap. Does Garmin ever put out updates to the basemaps?
  8. Every once in a while, I think about changing my user name. I'm thinking that many of you have thought the same way. As our lives change, so do our interests and maybe changing our user name would more appropriately suit us. However, I rarely find a good name that is not already used: and to make matters worse, used by someone who has never cached or cached twice back in 2003. Let me give an example please. I was thinking of Doc Savage books the other day. These are novels from way back and you can look them up on the internet if you wish, but I thought it might be cute to be "Doc Savage". Of course the name is taken by someone who was interested in caching for about 20 days back in May of 2004 and never logged a cache. Why can they still claim the name? Is there no cleanup or name purge? There must be some criteria by which this site could be cleaned up. It would seem that the name database would appreciate an occasional cleaning out. Anyhow, thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now.......
  9. I just got a legend c that was at 2.30 i think. I upgraded to the 2.50. Should I go to the 2.52 as a beta?
  10. Do these include siRF? Is the geocaching firmware the same as the 60 series?
  11. Wow! Doesn't anyone work anymore?? All those responses so quickly! Thanks to all for the info!
  12. I recently went through a change of my user name. During my search for a new name, I noticed an abundance of good names and variations that were being taken by folks who either had not verified yet or hadn't been used in years, some since inception. Are there any plans in the works to clean out these accounts and let others use the names?
  13. I've wanted to change my password, but many of the ones I've tried are taken. That's understandable. However, a few of them are taken by folks that signed up years agao and never used the account. Is there a user cleanup process that's ever done?
