  1. I've had my Legend for about a year. I use rechargable 1700 mA-hr cells and generally get at least 10 to 12 hours per charge, maybe more. I almost always keep the tracking turned off. If I'm going to need help getting back to my car from a cache hunt I just set a waypoint before I leave. I also keep it plugged into the cigarette plug while in the car so I don't run the batterys down while driving around. It's also good to carry an extra set of rechargables with you just in case. I also agree with the previous posts.

  2. We had new monumentation set in our county several years ago when we started our program of developing a new digital base map for GIS. One lady call me complaiing about the white marker on the right-of-way in front of her house. She was certain it was causing her appliances to malfunction. Even after assuring these markers had nothing to do with her appliances she continued to press the issue. After another day or so of complaining, we just told the surveyor to move the marker to a different location. Problem solved.

  3. Take it outside where it has a clear view of the sky. Turn it on and let it set for 15 or 20 minutes while it acquires sat. data. Also, read the directions. I'm sure it explains all this in much more detail.

  4. I'll have to second the previous comments about TVNAV. I purchased a unit last July and had excellent service. They also had the lowest price I could find on the unit. They will be my first choice for my next unit.

  6. Getting Back On Subject, I can generally get several birds inside my house. I suspect some signals are being reflected off walls, etc. However, outside, I rarely have a reception problem with my Legend. Even under tree cover doesnt seem to be a big problem. So far, I can remember only once where I lost reception on a cache hunt but I got the signal back as soon as I moved a ways.
