  1. If anyone has any doubts about the 3D features of Memory-Map 2004, you need to see Monsal Dale in 3D aerial view. Spectacular. It also reinforces the view that the cache is seriously under rated. Did I really get up there?? Whew!!!! Alex (Fossil Transfer FTF)
  2. I have two complex puzzle multi-caches and when I set them a long time ago I did think that the amount of effort that was needed to find the clues and solve the puzzles warrented more than one smiley face. So the caches are split in two. One for finding the clues and one for solving the puzzle and finding the cache at the end. No one has ever commented on it and I'm still happy with the way I did it. I would certainly do the same again in future caches subject to approval. As always my attitude is to do whatever you feel most comfortable with. It is after all only a game. Alex..
  3. There is no reason why it shouldn't be. Another FTF for Seasider :P
  4. Just think how many more he could have done if he didn't have to take his dad around with him all the time. Alex.
  5. Probably since around the time when geocachers started to saw branches off trees. It just goes to show that it doesn't matter how careful you are what you say to journalists, they will still print pretty much what they want to. Alex.

We hope that this will only be temporary whilst we look for a sponsor for these maps. Ah... so I was right. 7. Or "Sunninghistory 8 The Home Stretch" where you have to try to avoid the strange little bearded bloke that seems to spend most of his time skulking in the shrubbery. Alex. A member of Team Slytherin - geocachers extraordinare. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/default.aspx?A=19781

  9. Looks like things are back to normal now. Must have been a temporary glitch. A member of Team Slytherin - geocachers extraordinare. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/default.aspx?A=19781

Chris Sorta like it Chris, but it doesn't have the caches showing visually on the map any more. Or has my pop-up stopper thingy caused something else not to load? Alex. 11. Golly gosh.. you are right. The 1:50000 maps are gone. I wonder if their licence ran out on 1st Nov? Alex. A member of Team Slytherin - geocachers extraordinare. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/default.aspx?A=19781
  12. quote:Originally posted by Adam & Lisa:A hypothetical question: would it be OK to place a cache on land owned by a charity where access to the land requires payment of a fee (as a donation to the charity)? Similar to the National Trust? There are lots of caches around that require either a car park fee being paid, or taking the alternative of a very long walk. There are also quite a few that I have done where a donation in an honesty box is requested in order to gain access to the cache site. As long as this is clearly set out on the cache page, I don't see a problem. Alex. A member of Team Slytherin - geocachers extraordinare. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/default.aspx?A=19781
  13. Slytherin is an account for Team Slytherin which is me and Kim. She is fed up with getting splashed with the brown stuff that gets thrown at me from time to time so she has reinstated her original "kimrobin" account of GC:COM. Should she have anything to say, she will post using that name. I am now SlytherinAlex and any posting that I make on these forums are my views and not hers. The account will be used for posting on these forums only. alex.
