Once while digging thru the "junk" to find the log book I found a twenty dollar bill! And to think I was going to take the plastic slinky!

Well I just bought a set of Lenmar 2300 nimh batteries with a one hour charger with ac and dc adaptors and man I love em! Got them at Fry's Electronics for $29 I think, or was it $39? Anyway they charge in an hour and last forever! They last soooo much longer than the 1700's I was using.

Future Dream GPS, What Would You Have Yours Do?
Andy and Robin replied to a topic in GPS technology and devices
I'm thinkin a 52" plasma screen with quadraphonic sound. An xray imaging device for looking inside and behind things, a discriminating metal detecting circuit. You know...everything but birth control...hey wait a minute...birth control ..hmmm... Andy (not robin) -
had three new ones approved today and I can assure you they won't make it through the night before one of our local cachers and forum posters has FTF's on all three. Right Billy?

60cs Annoyances, Tips And Tricks
Andy and Robin replied to SnoWake's topic in GPS technology and devices
Snowake Did the find by name problem work ok when in the geocache find screen? Mine works when searching waypoints (which works for geocaches) but when i search in geocaches only it seems to quit matching after the fourth digit. When I enter the fifth digit nothing happens. Andy -
What, no name column?

New 60cs Software V 3.20
Andy and Robin replied to Team BlackZ's topic in GPS technology and devices
The find problem that this supposedly corrected is not fixed. When you do a search by name the waypoint you search for does not end up on the top of the list still. You need to scroll up to find it. I'm disappointed as this was my worst gripe. -
Garmin 60cs Screen Protectors
Andy and Robin replied to jbclimber's topic in GPS technology and devices
I just returned from "99 Cents and Less" where I purchased some Belkin PDA Screen Overlays for the Palm m100. They actuall fit my 60cs without cutting and fit dang good. Even the curve at the top is right, they don't fit all the way to the bottom of the screen but stop just above the word "Garmin" at the bottom. They are glossy clear and come with a nice little cleaning cloth to prep your screen and a squeegie card for applying. Not bad at 12 for 99 cents! -
Ok every time I try to install this beta it installs but when I try to run it , it says my trial period has expired. What's up with this?
-
Both my Garmins fake it too when they lose lock. I drive through a tunnel every night that is maybe a mile long and neither one admits to losing the satellite lock until 7/8s of the wat through the tunnel. But if you watch the laptop connected to them it's pretty obvious because the tunnel turns and the track on the screen continues straight!

New Cacher Looking For A Very Cheap Gps!
Andy and Robin replied to ayeyen's topic in GPS technology and devices
Actually Andy and Robin used this unit to find several caches before buying a Legend. Seemed to get us plenty close actually. Don't remember having any DNF's with it , but have had plenty with the Legend and the 60cs! -

http://tinyurl.com/2kofk buy this one cheap. -
I tried 6.03 and when I used it for navigating on my laptop with the GPS hooke up the red arrow and waypoints would disappear while moving yet my location would say centered on the screen. They would reappear when I stopped. Haven't tried 6.04 yet. Back to 5.4 for me. Andy

60cs Annoyances, Tips And Tricks
Andy and Robin replied to SnoWake's topic in GPS technology and devices
Hiya Billy I'm experiencing the same thing when using the "find" feature. It does seem kinda strange that you would have to scroll back up to the actual waypoint you are looking for. It seems to me that it is always just one line up from being visible on the screen. Andy -
Garmin Gps-map 60cs - Where To Buy?
Andy and Robin replied to Desert_Warrior's topic in GPS technology and devices
I personally spoke with the owner of Getfeetwet and he was a very nice guy. At first I had got that phone recording too and left a message. He called the next day and said they had been having phone troubles. The whole deal was great. Got my 60cs for $395 plus $12 for shipping which included an extra year extended warranty and a hat which is out of stock but now they are including a t shirt which he is sending me instead (at my request). Received my cs in two or three days and couldn't be happier. He said they were making $12 at that price. -
When I installed my new Mapsource U.S. Topo yesterday the only installation option was "typical" I would like to do a full install with all maps and data installed on the hard drive. It requires the disk to be in the hard drive right now. Any ideas?
-
On page 37 of the manual it shows a screen shot that has the difficulty and terrain rating of the cache that you are navigating to. Is that info somehow uploaded to the unit or is it inputted manually by the user? I loaded my cache list to my 60cs from Mapsource on my laptop and I don't have this info available on my gps.

and don't but that "cheapy" Bounty Hunter when you can get this one! Top of the Line

My Legend seemed to have a much more detailed basemap than my new 60 cs. The Legend had lots of big streets in my city while the 60cs basemap only seems to have the freeways. Anybody else notice this?

60cs And Easygps And Gsak
Andy and Robin replied to Andy and Robin's topic in GPS technology and devices
Well I downloaded and installed the ExpertGps beta and it said the trial version had expire. What's up with that? -
So how do I use these programs with my new 60cs? They seem to have no USB support.
-
Just got my 60cs an hour ago! Totally cool, but who sells a good non-coiled combo power/data cable for it so I can plug it in in the car and hook it to my laptop too?
