  1. So your just going to post a picture of a kick a** spot and not tell us where you were or what cache you found! I was thinking the almost the same thing. Based on Super10commander's gallery it looks like Blue Hole. Road trip?
  2. The number you should use to log the coin is the first one you mentioned but only the portion before the hyphen (the first six digits). In almost all cases you will find a coin with just six digits, this coin also included a serial number which is the portion after the hyphen. TBPFKA, is the reference number that can be used it you need to reference it in the forums or such. Also you should go back and edit your original post to remove the tracking number from your post.
  3. Just the other day I had a bug discovered that had been missing for a couple of years, according the the discover log they had typed the number in wrong and got mine so decided to discover it. Even if you don't have any photo editing software you can still edit the picture in Paint and alter the area where the numbers are. I'm in that boat right now as I got a new computer and my old software doesn't work on it.
  4. Congratulation to crooow on 600 last Saturday at In honor of Ms. Froggy and Crooow and to seattlegeekgrrrlz on 500 the same day a couple caches later at Scooby-Doo 2 at Buck Lake.
  5. It is possible that the last holder of the trackable has not had a chance to drop it off yet online. Is is actually listed as in the cache page online? If I find a trackable not listed in the cache page I found it in, I usually wait at least a day or two before finally grabbing it, logging it into the cache I found it in, and finally retrieving it from that cache to move it on. What is the TB number, ie the number that starts with TB*****, not the trackable code.
  6. I just checked the caches you found today. The cache called 10 had a note from a few days ago by the owner saying they had replaced the cache. They should have also marked the three trackable items in the cache as missing since they are no longer in the cache. The Toy Machine cache looks like it should have a coin in it, but two bugs are missing and have notes on the trackable page. Iredale Outpost looks like it should have two items in it, but two of the other items listed have been there a long time and are overdue to be marked missing. In the logbooks for the caches did you happen to notice if there were visitors right before you who may not have had a chance to log online yet? Hopefully others who are travelling up and down the coast grabbed the tracakbles and have not had the chance to get to a computer to log the finds yet. And to answer your question about what coins look like, about the only thing consistent is they are made of metal, but I'm sure there are some that are not. Many come in varying shapes, but most are still round. Look for a six digit tracking code somewhere on the coin. This can even be on the edge.
  7. Here is the link: http://www.geocaching.com/track/activate.aspx. I just took a look at the trackable page and there is no direct link I could find, but it is in the Travel Bug FAQ section.
  8. Although it does seem to be a standard practice now days to trade trackables at a cache, it is not required to leave a trackable if you take one. Cache swag and trackables are two different things entirely. Trackables are meant to be moved, swag to be traded.
  9. I had an eye out, but didn't see them. Where were these coins hiding?
  10. I usually try (depending on the circumstances) to wait at least a day or two giving the last person to have the bug a chance to log it into the cache themselves. If nothing is heard I would grab it AND like you said log it into the cache and out of the cache to give it credit for the miles travelled. edit:spelling
  11. There is currently a problem in the TB mileage calculation. More can be read here.
  12. I'm almost afraid to ask, what is a "Monkey Puzzle"?
  13. Well I've been caching just over five years. Of my first 100, 62 are now archived. First year, 56% are now archived, and currently 31% of all my finds are archived.
  14. Here is another thread that talks about how many people have done in a day. The website www.itsnotaboutthenumbers.com had a section with the top 10 and you could get it broken down by state, it is not currently available.
  15. Congratulations to the 3bobs on number 500 in Hawaii at Diamond Quest!
  16. You know now that I thought about it some I may very well have got them from the .gpx files. I do have a bookmark list of owned items that I run a query from, but it is also possible that I supplemented those with a GPX file.
  17. I have a bookmark list of my owned caches that I run as a pocket query, it includes all additional waypoints, including those points that I have hidden, I load these as a separate file on my gps for reference. I assume a GPX file would produce the same results, and include all points including hidden if you are the owner of the listing.
  18. I ask for a roll of dollar coins at the bank. I leave one here or there, and if I have my kids along I can leave a few if they actually trade.
  19. Sorry, new virtuals are no longer allowed. Try making it a multi starting at the point where you wanted the virtual.
  20. And what part of Seattle you are staying in. Check out the pinned thread at the top of Northwest section titled 'Coming to the NW for a visit?'. Also check out Northwest Classics bookmark list for some more cache suggestions. Depending on the area you are staying we can suggest more local to that location.
  21. I have a stupid question, well maybe two. What is PYN and NSV? I can almost come up with a couple of things for NSV that make sense but PYN? I went with pad your numbers and no significant value. Thanks! I was close on NSV. I find it interesting that you really are not that far away as a crow flies but that mountain range dividing us even has us using different acronyms.

  23. Yes they do, or at least they did the last time I ordered.
  24. PS. The owner can edit the TB at any time to give it a new goal. Just don't delete the history as this will also delete it from those that moved it.
