  1. The REI locations in the Seattle area are selling some geocaching supplies including Travel Bug tags and CITO coins. Don't know if the Georgia locations of REI are also selling them or not.
  2. Some history, from the resource section of the main page.
  3. There is already some effort underway on this. You should start seeing some things happen I hope before the end of the year. And my personal favorite is Let Us Pass Over the River.
  4. Where are you going to be in Washington? I'm in the Seattle to Everett area. I got a few extra's of different trackables.
  5. The cache was in the first place you looked, you just didn't look close enough.
  6. Thank you for posting, my girls especially enjoyed watching it. The geocaching aspect added a little more interest.
  7. The one that comes to mind first is this virtual: Trollville.
  8. So in the second options (Shared) would these show up on in the bookmark lists tab from your profile or you would just be able to link to them in your profile, like you can now? I can almost see four options - Private (puzzle solutions, etc.) - Shareable (Email link to others or post link on profile. Caching trip planning.) - Shared (Listed on your bookmark lists tab, but not on cache pages. Challenges.) - Public (Shows on bookmark lists tab and on cache pages. Favorites, caches in a park, along a trail, etc.)
  9. The Travel Bug Owner could provide you with the number. If they are no longer active, posting a note on the travel bug page asking the next person that retrieves it to send you the number so you can correct the travels before they retrieve it.
  10. Sorry, I missed the part about you being in Salem, they are both in Seattle, so that probably will not work out.
  11. You might want to contact NBJPoppa and Shaggy, Scooby and Velma. Both always have many trackables on hand, and may even have some that want to head in that direction.
  12. When I moved one of my puzzle caches I checked with the approver who had approved it, they gave the ok for the new location. If it had been a traditional or multi I would probably have just archived and relisted.
  13. Article from the Herald.
  14. I would recommend with kids the caches in the bigger Seattle Parks, Magnuson, Lincoln, Carkeek. Even if they get a little bored on the caching side of things, there are always other things to do. I know my two always appreciate some play equipment. I would also recommend the caches in Marymoor Park in Redmond. As far as specific cache recommendations we just did one today that was very enjoyable, Arboretum Waterfront Trail, don't miss the other caches in the Arboretum either. A little further out (Sammamish) has a couple of caches I found recently that kids should enjoy, Ball Swap and Plateau Pirate Treasure. And one last park recommendation, but in Snohomish County, Willis Tucker Park. Bring the swim suits, they have a water park next with the play equipment.

    Feature Request

Maybe doing a search using a combination of 24/7, less than 1 hour, and Parking available would be close to what you need. Maybe also add in 1.5/1.5. A few will probably be missing, especially since some do not add attributes. For the most part with a handful of exceptions the PQ I ran with that criteria for my area looked pretty much what you are asking for.
  16. I thought I would point out one cache that is on the Northwest Classics bookmark list that Hydnsek already mentioned, you are going to be very close to it on Thursday. Trollville, I think it would be one your 5 year old would enjoy. My oldest was about that age when we visited a few years ago.
  17. My first inclination was to suggest to mark them missing also, but it looks like the cachers who appear to have received the coins have never logged a trackable before, maybe they don't know how to do it. Maybe an email to them first before marking them missing.
  18. Congrats to Heather's Treasures on find number 800 today!
  19. ... Mountain Loop is open, and the views are GORGEOUS! ... [/url] Mountain Loop may be open but you cannot get through unless you have a very high clearance vehicle. Some where about a half a mile or so from Barlow pass we came right smack into a foot plus of snow on the road and a small tree was also parking part of the road. I'm sure the the amount of run off we saw it will only take another week or so before it is clear.
  20. I see my weekend caching plans changing dramatically!
  21. --This helped for awhile with my nine year old. Set up her own account and had her write her own logs. Of course once the account was set up she wanted to hide her own caches, I think she just likes getting the emails. Like I said this helped for a few months before she started getting bored with it again. --Go caching with another family with kids in a similar age group. Sometimes they will not walk 500 feet with me, or if we are even on a short hike(1 mile or less) they start saying it is too hot, my feet are sore, etc. But bring along some other kids that they can talk to and hike around with and we have gone miles, without a word of complaint.

    Notifications

I came into this forum to see if there was a post along these lines as I had not received many emails tonight and I'm usually flooded on the weekends. Thanks for posting, I would not have noticed it, and I think I know where I'm headed bright and early tomorrow morning! And to answer your question the outgoing email is probably hung up. It happens occasionally looking back through the forum threads.

    I lost a bug!

One way to get it out of your inventory is to log it into a cache you own. As owner of the cache you can mark the bug as missing. Marking the bug as missing does not send any notification to the owner or any watchers, so I would also post a note on the bug page and mention what happened and your attempts to contact the trackable owner. Edit spelling
  24. Does that part still work? I have not seen an asterisk for at least a few months on any bugs I've held over two weeks.
