  1. It works for me and my 7 year old son ! Best line so far "Dad, this is waay cool, Mum could never climb this !" ;-) Welcome home
  2. FALSE - we don't get Walmart own brand products in the UK The next cacher will agree that "it isn't about the numbers" but will find they are compelled to lie when they begin to type
  3. Good for kids of all ages, my son and his granny regularly disappear together to hunt caches & letterboxes - neither of them would otherwise go crawling around tree stumps looking for tupperware in the rain
  4. Since the rapid decline of the natural stocks in the 1930's, hunting the wild Haggis has been strictly forbidden - only the Queen is allowed to 'chase' the Haggis, although she chooses not to exercise this right. Therefore all store bought Haggis is now sustainably farmed, although one day we hope to see a large scale reintroduction of this wonderful indigenous European marsupial back into its natural habitat of the Highlands of Scotland. The distinctive 'pouch' of the Haggis inspired the wearing of the Sporran as part of traditional Scottish national dress. 2009 is Homecoming year for Scotland and the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth. See you there. ATB Mac
  5. It's great for our son to find cool stuff and make the effort to choose a suitable trade from his stash sack - we do load up caches we really enjoy so that the kids who make the effort to find them get a decent reward for their efforts.

  8. Any Postcode searches based on Google are notoriously inaccurate and some of the GC maps are powered by Google (?)
  9. I camo tape my LnL caches but after a series of wet logs with a cheaper imitation brand I keep the camo tape off the locking tabs so that they can securely close and keep the contents dry To echo another post above, stick with genuine LnL for best results ATB Mac
  10. I get customs charges only maybe 10% of the time - and was not charged anything extra when I last bought a GPS online from Texas In my experience, it's some of the mainstream online dealers get picked up more often than smaller outlets on the web - Amazon Shops ship independently and always seem to slip straight through. 11. Letterboxing is an outdoor pursuit with similarities to orienteering. A small pot (the letterbox) containing a stamp and visitors' book is hidden on the moor, and a clue is written to lead others to its position. Clues may be as simple as a map reference and list of compass bearings, or may be more cryptic. When a letterbox is found, the letterboxer takes a copy of the stamp, as well as leaving their own personal print in the visitors' book. Letterboxing began on Dartmoor but is now popular in areas all over the world. Dartmoor Letterboxing
  12. We leave a laminated FTF certificate and in our larger caches a shiny (plastic) Winner medal - and where we know the FTF specialists are likely to rush out I have started adding a Wooden Spoon marked up as a 2TF prize
  13. Our Son and his Granny were Letterboxing on Dartmoor where they met two Geocachers searching in similar places, each thought the other was looking for the same game piece . . . and off we went from there
  14. and the ridiculous idea that preforms go on to become lemonade bottles ??
  15. Got it - will be sneakily evaluating during some dull & boring work meetings next week
