  1. One of my large geocaches recently disappeared and I am replacing it. In the past I have seen a paper notice in visited caches asking the finders to please replace the cache where they found it. I have looked on our geocaching web site for an example of such an official looking notice, but cannot find such. If anyone has such a notice or know where I can find one, please share it with me. If you are interested in learning about this great treasure hunt Geocache site and the gardens it is located in, search for geocache GC1GHJR in the Wildlife Botanical Gardens, Brush Prairie, WA. Thanks in advance for any help. Capt. Brigg Franklin.
  2. On several of my travel bugs there is a new choice called "Is Collectible." I have not been able to find a description of what this choice means and therefore have not selected "yes" or "no". A short description would be helpful. Capt.Brigg
  3. I don't mean to be rude, but how are you reading the responses to your question? With great effort and care, and now with ctrl +++ somewhat less effort.
  4. The Control ++ is a nice touch, thanks, but it is not as viewable as a font change when I'm adding text. I regularly read the visitor posts to see when a cache was last found and how many visitors found or did not find the cache. Sometimes the given Lat/Long is very different than what my GPS says when I do find a cache and brief "general" hints from other cachers may make the difference in identifying the general area. I greatly appreciate visitors to my caches leaving comments such as "very unusual cache" " really enjoyed this find" or other forms of positive feedback. The positive feedback is why I maintain three caches. I definitely support allowing the Cache Owner to remove spoiler pictures without removing the log. I didn't even know you could remove the picture by removing the log, so that is good information. Thanks to all that responded to my question. Capt. Brigg
  5. Sorry about the large font, but I can't see or read the small font very well on my screen. Capt. Brigg
  6. I recently noticed two "Spoiler" pictures posted to my "The Dolphin" GC1GA19 cache. I have sent messages to both visitors that posted the pictures requesting that they remove the explicit location photos. If they do not respond in a reasonable time, what course of action can I take to have these photos removed from my site? I have received mail from other visitors saying they wish they had not seen the photos as they ruined the fun of the hunt. Thanks. Capt. Brigg
  7. Have the owner go here and fill it out. You reply and it's yours. If on the other hand Tomcat14 still wants to own the cache but have you be the maintenance lackey, then about all you can do is put a watch on the cache and take care of any problems. Jim My question has more to do with what happens after Tomcat 14 goes to the adoption web page and enters the cache ID. It's sort of like "what's on the other side of the green door?" Will he specify me (Capt.Brigg) as the new owner, and I will receive an email with the invitation? Or, do I have to go looking for something on the cache's web page? How will I know when and where to look for his adoption papers? When you haven't put something up for adoption, which neither I nor Tomcat 14 have done before, it's rather intimidating. 8. How do I adopt an orphaned cache? Tomcat 14 the owner of GCJM6Y "Brush Prairie Hunt" (in Washington state) has moved to South Dakota and has not been geocaching for some time. I have corresponded with him on the condition of the cache and he has indicated he would like to have someone (me) take over management of the cache. I recommended he visit the adoption section of the web site and offer the cache for myself or someone. Since I have never done this before I am unsure how to proceed. Any advice will be helpful. I live within a few miles of the cache and volunteer in a public garden near the cache so maintaining it will be easy. Capt.Brigg
