I use a Bluetooth PDA type of cellular phone that is listed as compatible with (i)Sync for Mac OSX. For me, it means one less "gadget" to carry/break/lose. At the same time, I download waypoints into my Garmin Legend? via a USB/Serial Adapter and the Garmin Serial cable. That being said, I still print the caches that I plan to find. I use the other informtion on whims.

Take a look at this one listed as a 2/1 Easy as Pie The cache turned out to be hung from a string tied to a ladder rung down a storm drain in the middle of a neighborhood park. This is the type of drain that is covered by a large and heavy steel grating that I could not remove by hand. I had to return later with a device to reach the string to pull up the cahce. (I believe needing equipment is an automatic rating of 5 for difficulty. But, many active cachers here in Hawaii use their own rating system.) I got a comment from the owner about being prepared. And, he would not allow for any hints in my find log. I feel sorry for those that may not be able to return later, like tourists expecting an easy find.

I'll be going to Wailea, Maui soon... then to the Big Island the week after. I don't think I'll be atop Mauna Kea, personally, but, I'd be happy to carry your bug to the volcano island. Please send me a link or information about where I can find your TB.
