  1. Well - Yes I too cannot find a way of getting all of the hides for a single cacher in the form of a pocket query. MrBrit
  2. Just ran the web updater and all seems to be good Lets see how it behaves tomorrow. MrBrit
  3. I have a reply from Garmin to share. ******************************* Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I am happy to help you with this. But I'm afraid that the most recent Garmin Communicator Plug-In 2.8.1 is not compatible with this new OS. Our engineers are currently working to release an update as soon as possible. When available, a message will be posted on the Garmin Connect website at http://connect.garmin.com. I apologize for any inconvenience, but please let me know if you should have any further questions or concerns. With Best Regards, Garmin International ******************************* So I will be using Firefox and looking for an update.
  4. Greetings! Since the installation of Safari 4.0 and Snow leopard 10.6. I have found the Garmin Communicator Plug-in fails to work in Safari but does work in Firefox... Any ideas?
  5. Yes this is possible. I too have made the a dash at the DIA caches. No they are not exquisite hides with a meaningful hike... As for the statement of the MadScottsman I need to clear one thing up. Caching at DIA is nothing like caching on vancouver Island, yes I have done both... vancouver island is AMAZING and the cache hides are great! All of the DIA hides have a re-occurring theme - Close to survey markers, gas pipe line markers, fiber-optic marker posts or the lone telephone pole or power line pole. Yes some are even visible from the car! So little impact is made as you step out of the car and reach behind a pole on the side of the road. take a look at street view in google maps, you will see what I mean. But I validate the claim of the OP as I have seen their logs on many cache log sheets in the DIA area. So our day of caching was... 3 adults 4 kids 8 - 12yrs old 4 GPS's One SUV 8 caching hours NO pre-finds 2 large bags of candy Pile o'snacks Water - lots of water 1.5 hr break for lunch at a diner AND 102 finds!!! So nowhere close the OP's record but our goal was 100 in a day and we made it, with a lot of smiles and before dark. So no this is not a series of complex caches it is a power trail fest done for one reason - because they are there! Still curious take a look at GC1J3CH this is in the middle of a power trail and most logs show the marks of marathon cache days. It will be a while before I do this again.
  6. Found the same issue. MacOS 10.5.8 Safari Version 4.0.2 (5530.19) MrBrit
  7. Thanks for the question: The route was created within the GC site http://www.geocaching.com/my/userroutes.aspx
  8. Re-posting here as this looks to be the correct forum. Greetings cachers at large. I have just found an issue and wanted to run it by this esteemed group to make sure i am not missing something. Just made a route on a path three miles of Colfax Avenue in lakewood CO (publically shared as - MrBrit test route) with a three mile radius. The expected result was 30 - 50 caches i have yet to find. What I received was one result. A point of interest was the single result was at the center of the search. Parameters: 3.11 mile radius 250 or 500 results max Any type of cache Any Container Type Filter Options -> I don't own, I haven't found Terrain and difficulty not chosen So any ideas? Look forward to hearing your thoughts MrBrit
  9. I have dropped a note to the folks at Groundspeak to see if they have an idea or two? MrBrit
  10. The site that I believe you are looking for is: www.cacherstats.com There are breakdowns by country etc. MrBrit
  11. Yep here too there are far too many caches in the super itchy juniper bushes!!! Ouch itch ouch itch scratch...
  12. The greatest thing of value I have found in a cache is the pleasure my kids get when they find a large container (ammo can). It does not really matter what is inside the container, but yes they are keen to browse and often trade MrBrit
  13. Many photos taken from smart phones such as iPhones have embedded gps coordinates within the image. Try opening an image from an iPhone with Google Earth! I did this and the photo is placed over the location of the image being taken. Hmm... looks like proof of where the photo was taken to me. Yes I am sure this can be hacked but if you are trying that hard to cheat I guess you have lost the plot anyway MrBrit
  14. Greetings! Well two part epoxy is the best i have found. But, the issue here is most likely a shiny surface which the glue is not bonding to. I would take some sand paper and rough up the surface then glue the magnets on. If you are looking for a little insurance i would then camo duct tape the box for good measure. Have fun making your hide! MrBrit
  15. Orion X - thanks for the idea. Double checked and even removed all criteria. So the 20+ finds I have made in this area should also show... Now have 3 results... Hmm... MrBrit
  16. I have had great luck with two part epoxy glue, as found at car parts or hardware shops. Super glue seems to work for a short while but fails after a few finds. Hope this helps. MrBrit
