  1. well done girls on the double. And nice to see you didn't stop at 400 today, you trying for next months COTM as well???
  2. what they said Great day out, good to see you all Wild trekker
  3. hey, a new record for me - 49th - lowest so far.
  4. Check out Joan's USA Geocoin, also dropped off at Snowdon Easy or Hard, mine is to go home with the team who have travelled furthest to the event to give it a good head start over Cave Troll's USA Geocoin. So now there are two to argue over Joan Don't think I will get that one then, I'm one of the closest (Apart from Justhejob probably) So does the same rule apply for the other one???
  5. Yep you certainly can To spot us look for Joan wearing the first ever geocachingtoday T shirt , that she won for her Snowdon Pyg Track photo. not unless I see you first. I'll swap you 2xTB for it
  6. Just dropped off some TB's to the cache, so bring along yours if you have them. Given the weather and some other factors, we have decided that Kate (Miss Wild Trekker) who is 5.5 weeks old now, will not be joing me on this event. I am going to take Mrs Wild Trekkers place on the easy way up, rather than the hard way and then take the hard way back down, grabbibg the cache as I do. So see you all on the train or at the top.
  7. Unfortunatly we took out a 5 year repair policy on it, and ended up with a enginer who hadn't a clue (2 motherboards, memory, powersupply, harddrive, graphics card, modem, proccesor fan, DVD drive, all replaced) and we've still got 2 years left on the policy! It's not one of those that includes accidental damage is it? you don't want to leave and coffee or sugared dring next to it when it's off, just in case you spill it all over it and they end up giving you a new PC I here they bouce well durring transportation
  8. mines on it's way, although not many this month due to Miss wild trekker taking over my life So was it 1000 points for a Baby cache????? And 500 for a Jeep 4x4 TB
  9. You should have said dave, I would have sorted it for you
  10. Not during the week we haven't. We know anyway how popular the Jeeps are and until we stumble on one accidentally we will not go out for one specially. There are others ready and waiting to pounce at any new cache or TB so we just bide our time as the saying goes "Good Things come to those who wait". so what is the point of rushing around. Chill!!!. Joan Did I say that just a few days ago. Sorry I fibbed. We were sitting at home this evening when we got a message via our watch list that a Yellow Jeep TB had been placed in North Wales. Well what would you have done? Wait until tomorrow then have an early start hoping that it was still there. Or would you have dashed all the way into North Wales with hope that no-one had beaten you to it? Well of course being the chilled out, un-addicted cachers that we are we had to choose the latter. We found the cache easily and opened the lid with trepidation but yes there it was that illusive little Yellow Jeep TB. Keep your eyes on the cache search page. It will be appearing somewhere else shortly. Joan I told you so
  11. Hey, thats great news, well done on all your work to achieve this
  12. You mean you stop to eat I might pack a few snacks, otherwise I just keep on caching
  13. Thanks Guys, new you would have the answer, All geocaches now ready to go (Plus all the Speed cameras ) Trouble is, Mrs Wild Trekker wants me to download a male voice for Navigation
  14. I know that many of you use Tom Tom software on your PDA's, so can anyone let me know how to import in to it as I can seam to find the way to do it. i have downloaded cache locations and also some POI's, but how do you get them in to the software???????
  15. Could have ment Mark and Joan!!! AKA Cave Trol and Joan They have been know to lurk in those parts, especially when a Jeep 4x4 is up for grabs
  16. You mean you are not going to grab a few of the new caches in north Wales on the way back.
  17. 179 Caches found to 51 TB's Found, so just about 3.5:1 As for caches placed and TB's Owned, 22 caches, 13TB's (and 5TB's on order) So thats's 1.7:1 and soon to be 1.2:1 Edit: Forgot to say, plus 1 Jeep 4x4 Travel Bugs, not included in those figures
  18. Same here, my little 201 has helped me find nearly 200 caches and still going strong. A nice toy for about £100. GPS do seam to have a good deal, infact I just ordered my PDA and Car GPS with Tom Tom from them (Along with a few Travel Bug Dog Tags) global positioning systems - Geko 201 BTW, welcom to the sport
  19. I try not to use clues, but I think it depends on a lot of things. Sometimes the signal is just not good enough to pinpoint the location. I do think clues should be helpfull though, I did have one that said it's under a rock, when there was about 500 rocks. it took about an hour of searching and the final rock was about 20 meters from the GPS point. It would be really nice if our GPS took us to within 1 foot of the cache everytime, but sadly they don't, so if there is a lot of hiding places, then a clue should help, if there is only a couple of possible places withing a square mile, then make it more cryptic I guess that we have to remember that some cachers travel a long way to go geocaching and for me it's the location that I'm taken to that makes it for me, not the sawps in the cache or to find a little hole where you can hide some tupawear, so to get to that location and not be able to sign the log book can be very disapointing.
  20. Where should I put the one I have then??? I decided to track the ones I knew about and saw that Inukshuk placed his near me. Maybe we should have a Jeep TB Auction on Snowdon Who wants to start the Bidding? How many TB's for the Jeep???
  21. Well, we do have the good old "Bug Sheet" that I usually put with my bug if it is going somewhere specific, but many bugs have a set number of taskes, so the destination changes all the time. I picked up one yestarday that needed to go to 2 counties in wales, which it has, so now it needs to go to scotland. My Canonball run TB's have to go via 5 countries, so a small luggage tag isn't very practical. For one Bug that i dropped off last night, which had to go to Ireland next, i wrote this on a bit of paper before leaving home and also in the log book. The log book is always in the cache, so it doesn't take much to write the destination in it and for the next person to find that enrty to see where the bug wants to go. This would mean that it works for every cache and not just TB Hotels
  22. Well done on making it 200 It looks like i have some catching up to do to, what with Justhejob doing the same.
  23. Welcome to the forums and hopefully you will make some new friends as well
