  1. This is the worse possible time for this problem to be happening as I just started my trip. My GPS handheld was working fine until I removed the AA batteries for charging. As soon as I reinserted the batteries, this problem started. My Garmin GPSMAP 66S suddenly become non-functional with the message "Updating GPS firmware" and going 0% then 1% (see attached screenshot) and the message disappearing and no GPS function. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop/computer with me as I'm out of the country. I only have an Android and iPhone with me and the Garmin app installed. I don't know how else to troubleshoot and fix the GPS unit. I tried a hard reset and the problem didn't go away. My handheld is using the latest firmware. I think it's 2.70? I recalled updating it before I left for my trip. Help?
  2. Has anyone tested to find out how long it takes the Garmin 67 to go from 0% to 100% battery life?
  3. I intend to use my device to create a GPX file for geotagging my photos. How do I configure it for maximum accuracy? I'm assuming GPS+Galileo will yield the highest accuracy? Can I enable WWAS? I also intend to set the recording interval to one second.
  4. I checked the specs of the eTrex SE and it doesn't seem like it can record a track log? My purpose for this device would be to record a track log with a one-second interval. I'm curious if the Garmin 67's antenna makes it more accurate than the eTrex SE? I wonder what the battery life of the 67 is recording a track log with a one-second interval and no backlight? Recharging time from 0%-100%?
  5. Money talks. I kinda wished Garmin's touchscreen devices adopted dual-frequency GNSS. Perhaps they're not selling enough to justify product development?
  6. If anyone here does get the 67, I would be interested to know how long it'll take to recharge from either 0% or close to 0% to 100% battery life.
  7. I think I watched the same YouTube video as you. When selecting multiband, it doesn't seem like one can pick which GNSS to use. So which systems will the 67 connect to? The 66i in the video clearly selected GPS+Galileo.
  8. Your website is garbage and stop telling me to visit it. I don't want to help you generate any revenue. Furthermore, stop responding to my posts since you have nothing constructive to add. I don't want your help anymore.
  9. I find people like him to be inherently unhelpful and to be frank, toxic. I don't understand this search this up yourself sort of attitude. If he doesn't want to answers then don't bother. The guy is ridiculous and he's been posting like this for ages.
  10. How were you able to get your hands on a unit so quickly? I just read that Garmin added a USB-C port. If true, that's huge! Can you confirm this? It's amazing that Garmin supports all the major GNSS. I don't think the 66sr supported Beidou. Can you confirm how many constellations it can connect to simultaneously to get the best accuracy?
  11. Gotcha. Surely there has to be an easier way to do this. Are there any non-abrasive tools?
  12. When it's set to auto archive daily, which timezone does Garmin uses to end and start a new day?
  13. For the Garmin 65s and Garmin 66SR, if the storage is blank since it's a new unit, how many days' worth of tracks I can record with a one-second interval?
  14. I usually have the backlight at the lowest possible brightness to conserve battery power. However, I read that I can turn off the screen completely while it's still connected to GPS installation to preserve battery life. However, I can't tell if it's connected to GPS in that situation. Is there any way such as a light indicator that can warn me when it's connected to GPS or not? This is for the Garmin 65s and 66SR.
  15. The last Garmin unit that I got which was easy to remove AA batteries was the 60CSx. Every Garmin handheld unit I've got since is really difficult to remove AA batteries. I've tried using the tip of a pen or the flat end of a nail clipper to remove the batteries and over time it just damages the exterior of the batteries. It's not an issue for disposable AA batteries, but it's an issue for rechargeable AA batteries. So I guess I'm wondering what's a better way to remove the AA batteries? Thx!
  16. Any update on this problem? I don't feel very hopeful since this thread hasn't been updated in a while.
  17. You're making some really stupid and bizarre comments. I'm not active on this forum and now I want to get back into this hobby. Trolling? Wow. I think it's crazy that you have this much time to dig up old posts and then making crazy insinuations. If I'm not sure of something, I'm going to ask. How that constitute as trolling is beyond me.
  18. I don't have the 62s with me so how can I test this? Seems creepy for you to go back and dig up old posts and then insinuate something is wrong.
  19. I'm assuming that screenshot from @Mineral2 is from the status page? Meaning, it's not possible to screen capture that then?
  20. Is there any way to see the status page and have the ability to screen capture?
  21. So the "T" means southeast? I suppose if you're southwest, the location of the "T" would shift to the lower left corner?
  22. That's fantastic! Thank you so much!!! What does the "T" underneath the degree symbol mean? I'm assuming the elevation is based on the reading from the barometric altimeter in your device? If you set your power button to take a screenshot (that's the default?), then how can I see the status page?
