  1. I would like to see some kind of different icon for new caches. I am often looking for new or unfound caches. In a related vein, it would be nice to have it say how long it has been since it was last found, perhaps # of days since last find? Doc
  2. I have an Oregon, and my wife has a Colorado. I got them specifically because they are made for caching. Prior to that, I used my Palm Pilot. That was fine, except for the fact that it isn't waterproof, shockproof, or very reliable. I used CacheMate on it, and it worked well, though the built-in caching appliances work better in the GPS.
  3. Why did Robert Lipe announce yesterday that GeoWoodstock VIII was to be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado?
  4. I had a couple of suggestions for improvements on the site. It would be handy to be able to go to the "next nearest caches" page from a "found log" page. Generally, I cache an area when I go out, and it would be handy to have a button for saving the log you just posted, and then automatically go to the nearest cache page for that cache. Perhaps a separate button from the one you have now, which saves the log and then lets you view it? I would also like to be able to keep Waymarks on the Geocaching profile, and vice versa. If they are intended to replace locationless and virtual caches, shouldn't they be on the profile? Is there a way to make a pocket query for benchmarks? Or to include them in a regular pocket query? It would be very handy to have the benchmark profile in the pocket query, as often you need some part of the description to find it. Doc
  5. I carry a Pelican Super Saberlite and an LED light on my keychain. I also have a 1mil candlepower spotlight that I keep in the car, just in case. Doc
  6. It is just my opinion, but I would think that they would get more traffic through Waymarking and Wherigo if the stats showed up on your main Geocaching page. Doing these ancillary projects can be fun, but it is hard to get some people out of the primary mode. Wherigo is even more difficult, as many people do not have a Colorado, Oregon, or Pocket PC with which to run them. Doc
  7. It did help, thanks. I use Firefox, and it does not allow you to specify where the download goes, and I found it eventually in a download folder specific to the username. I did one of the Play anywhere Wherigos (or is that an AnyWhereigo?) so it is working, though I am surprised at how small some of these files are. Those do not show on your statistics page, I take it? Doc
  8. What did you do? I cannot seem to be able to download any useful information from the site. It only downloads 7kb files, and surely there is more information than that. Also, it downloads, well, somewhere, but not to the desktop. I cannot figure out where it is going. I am running Windows Vista, and trying to use a Garmin Oregon for the cartridges. Doc
  9. One thing to consider: Do you want to have your primary business tool out with you caching? I have an I-phone, but still use my old Palm Pilot with CacheMate for caching, so that the phone can stay in the truck more often than not. Doc
  10. Hello, first post, but been caching for 4 years. Recently started paperless caching, using GSAK and CacheMate. I have a Garmin Etrex Vista and the wife has the above Magellan. My problem is with GSAK and the limits that it has for the Magellan. She has a 64MB card in it, so it can hold any number of waypoints that I would want to put in it, but GSAK does not allow for more than 200 points for any Magellan. Is there a way to reset this? So far, my only solution has been to limit my Pocket Queries to 200 points, as I am wanting to keep the Garmin and Magellan in sync. Thanks in advance. Doc
